I don't know whether to rejoice or shrug in silence, at the announcement Ford is coming out with an F150 Dark Horse model with the 500 HP coyote engine. Bolt on a Whipple, and you now have the World's fastest production pickup. It might even surpass the Mustang Dark Horse considering its four wheel drive?

Heck, things could get worse, as they could come up with a four door Mustang! Heavens, what is the World coming to?

You can surpass the mustang with a whippled F150 XL they call it the Mexican GTR. this supposed "dark horse" doesn't really move the needle imo.

As we all know, the Dark Horse Mustang has different engine internals than the GT, which are essentially the same as those in the F150 5.0. So I sort of guess the addition (F150 DH) is a part's shelf upgrade.

In some respects, I can't blame Ford for any of their 7 new (2026) models. Prices certainly will go up with tariffs on both steel and aluminum, but we get back a small and a large sedan. Oh, and I like the tiny truck too!

I mean a v8 mustang suv would be great. If it stays small and compact. Most dont get a mustang because they have a family.

Where did you hear this? I feel like this would make headlines, but I can't find anything on this anywhere...

There was a F150 seen with a Dark horse badge, but it looked like someone just put the badge on their truck as a joke

Wouldn't be mad if they made the FP700 F150 a production model and called it Dark Horse. Suits it better than a Mustang.

they are not doing an F-150 Dark Horse as far as i know. however, we may be getting the F-150 Lobo, similar to how we got the Maverick Lobo, as a sport truck

I wonder where the Lobo will slot in the F150 trims. I hope it's between XLT and Lariat personally, or STX and XLT.

To be fair, I appreciated all of my Mustangs exactly because I had a family. It was somewhere they can't all fit so I don't need to use it for long family trips, none of them drive it and they don't ride in it without me asking them to, and they don't eat or drink in it. It's the exact opposite of my wife's 2010 Honda Pilot. I bought that for the family and I bought my Mustang for me.

To be clear: I've offered to buy her a new car every year since 2011, while retaining the Pilot, and she declines. She loves here car and takes very good care of it. When it finally collapses or the kids move out or all have their own cars, I'll be buying her whatever she wants.
