I have had the M2 for almost a year now. I will do a comparison vs. the S550 Mustang. Which by the way I thought would wipe the floor with the S650. My 2020 S550 put down 445rwhp and with 4.09 gears was no slouch. I feel this M2 would beat it. This car in 3rd gear is a monster, not to mention it put down 472rwhp SAE at EAS's dynojet. The damn car is rated for 453hp at the crank...my ass.
Dave, all due respect because I think your M2 is cool and it will beat a DH in a straight line but that’s it man. It’s not American muscle . Sorry to break it to you! Lol

great question, is the S58 engine in the M2 now?
I’ve yet to see any quick M2s at the track or
On the street… I’ve seen countless M4s with a down pipe and E30’tune run whipple coyote numbers

if the S58 engine is in the newer M2s maybe they’ll start to show out this year

The M2 has had the same twin turbo s58 as the m3 & m4 for a couple years now. Where you been man? Lol

Because you can get an 8-speed auto m4 cs in awd. Then you tune it and do whatever else you do to the s58 for 300 more hp and there you go. Fast as fuck
You can also throw a Whipple on a s650 with drag suspension/tire setup and go really fast too.
Not sure that’s the point of this thread though .

R44 did a AWD G87 at 1000+hp and runs 8.0s at 156mph I believe. They are shooting for 7s.

I have owned two S58 cars.
One was an X3M tuned. That thing was basically an lifted xdrive M3 and it was a beast.
I also owned an M3 manual. Great car but I preferred the x3m in the long run.
The auto ZF8 and S58 engine is a match made in heaven.
Definitely get an S58 if you can, they are beasts with just a tune.
Also, avoid the carbon bucket seats. They are punishing, especially is used as DD.

Manual vs Manual the Dark Horse is much better. The tremec combined with the Coyote is something else.

I priced an M240i, around $NZ30k more. And with Euro servicing costs being what they are, there was no way.

How is the clutch and manual transmission in the M2? Is it true what they all say that it is very jerky from 1-2?

It does take some getting used to. I have had 2 E46 M3s, and 2 E92 M3s so I knew what I was getting into. It took me a whole week to finally get it where I can drive aggressively without there being any jerking. Like any car out there, you have to learn its intricacies. There is nothing wrong with the manual tranny in the M2, in fact I feel it is better than the previous M cars. I feel a lot of people complain about it because they need to complain about something. These cars are really fantastic. Spectacular build quality, great materials and to be honest it really is a complete package car and for the money it really is hard to beat.

One thing about the S650 vs. the M2. To get the S650 to where I would want it I would have to spend at least $7k in mods to get what I wanted out of the car. Wheels and tires, suspension and a tune with a set of 4.09 gears when there is finally tuning for this car. The M2 all I did was an Eibach Pro kit and some spacers...done.

Everybody keeps saying to remove the clutch delay valve to stop that jerkiness

Dave, I agree that the interior and exterior fit and finish of the M2 is great but out of curiosity did you test out the DH premium at all.
I find the interior to be a drastic improvement over my Mach 1 premium . Also the chassis is much more composed than the s550. Very much like the M2 in my opinion
