As soon as I saw this on the forums I reached out to the dealership doing my Stage 1 kit in April and told them add this to the list of stuff to do! I have never experienced this issue, however my DH was built the week before the end of the impacted build cycle, so don't want to take the chance.

Does anyone have info on what the trouble may be, and fix/repair? (Ex: short wire harness pull on connector pins/ lengthen harness and replace connector) Curious

I just picked mine up at the dealer finally yesterday Sunday after having put a down on it in October. According to the sales guy, who got the info from the service guy, it was apparently just a software update. I had to wait for over 3 months for a simple software update??!!! I find that a bit ridiculous.

I find that a bit ridiculous.
Ford didn't even have a solution for a few months and then when they did that had to undergo testing and compliance before becoming a release candidate and then they started to push things out.

Software isn't just a "Oh? There is a problem? *snap* push out the software".

Multiple months isn't ideal but I'd rather they UAT/Beta the software before pushing it live and messing up other stuff.

As @MCS mentioned, there's a bit of a process.

First, Ford has to collect data, confirm there is a problem, notify NTSA, then dealers, customers, etc.

Afterwards, determine a fix. It could have been a simple code change. But it also might have involved a chipset, a chip designed and built by a sub-contractor.

Next, implement and test the fix, in a lab or simulator. Ford would want to confirm the original problem was repaired, and that they didn't insert yet another fault.

Finally, Ford would present their findings to NTSA and have them sign off. If NTSA accepts that, dealers and customers could then be notified.

It's a bit involved, but it's like that on purpose. They want to ensure they fix it, while not doing any additional harm. Or compromising any safety standards.

Glad to hear it was something easy to correct and people are getting their cars back. :thumbsup:

An additional factor is the amount of recalls NTSA handles. In the latest available data, NTSA dealt with close to 1,000 vehicle recalls in 2023 affecting almost 50M vehicles.

Thanks, I'm looking at buying a 2024 Darkhorse, looks like it needs the recall, checked the production date as well as the VIN, both indicate it needs it.

Does anyone know if 24C35 is the same recall as the 24V802?
I got an OTA update for 24C35 but when I check my VIN online it still shows as recall incomplete and to visit the dealer. Very confusing.

The recalls appear to be the same. If you Google "24C35" and later "24V802", they both point to the same link.

The text in this link is "24V802", but the text in the document is "24C35".

Some caveats.

- Two separate recall IDs referenced what appears to be the same issue. Depending on how Ford documented the recall, Ford's systems might continue to show one as "awaiting", even though the OTA update completed it. See above

- Ford's internal data systems are discombobulated; they can take several days, working/week days, to process and update entries

- Maybe, just maybe, due to the nature of the recall, a Ford tech actually needs to be at the car to confirm the update took correctly. IDK. Each electronic module can have its own firmware/software build. During a Body Control Module update, I witnessed the tech authenticate 30+ BCM-related devices to ensure they were all displaying the latest revision

You've done what you can. I'd give it until COB Wednesday next week. If you continue to see something still open, chat up the closest Service Advisor.

I finally had this for the first time yesterday; after a year of ownership and not a single issue!

I was doing a full detail on a 2023 Ferrari Spyder and showing the customer how the products he bought off my site are used and what the results are like. I do this for local higher end customers or people that I know "IRL". I go to leave the his house after and my left side screen didn't light up. Everything still worked, but I couldn't see anything on the left side.

Turned the car off... Got out... Closed the door... Walked around the car 3 times... chanted a Tibteten monk chant, threw salt over my left shoulder, prayed to the All Father and then climbed back in and started it up and the second time all was fine. Glad I wasn't behind the wheel when it did that.

They are supposed to be doing the fix when I bring it in October 14th for oil change/coolent top off.

Anyone know how long the update takes?
