GT 2024 - after 5 months still driving heavy and slow

And the car is not displaying the wrench light? No alarms something is wrong?

My guess is the Throttle Mapping with the Accelerator Pedal. Do you have it in Track Mode? The Track Mode feels heavy. Very different from S550 mapping. Personally I don’t like it. But it makes it feel heavy unless yiir above 4500 rpm. I use sport or drag. Which sucks because I like the track suspension set up. Just not the throttle.

Do the following:

Start the car and drive it in normal mode for 10 minutes (To warm up everything at operating temperature)

1) Start the car and put it in Sport Mode using the steering wheel controls on the left, Then put it in manual mode using the shifter to M.

2) Accelerate slowly in first gear (M1) until your RPMs hit about 4K and then floor it.

Tell me what happens. Did it feel fast? It should.

I have a 24 GT, PP, 10-speed auto, non active exhaust, with Pypes axle back. I have owned the car almost a year. I drive it daily. I love my car other than the infotainment issues it has. When I occasionally "punch it", it responds like I want it to. It is a thrill to drive. I would make an appointment to take the car into a dealership because you should feel the acceleration. I have previous Mustangs ('06 Mustang GT, Roush supercharged, '14 Mustang GT, '19 Mustang GT, Roush supercharged). And this '24 Mustang is just about as quick as my '19 was. Sounds like there may be something wrong with your car. I hate you are disappointed with the acceleration.

Hard to believe that you went and purchased something you didn’t try out before signing. I guess sometimes it’s that way for people. I did research on research, got on Forums like that and test drove the Hell out of my S650 before I made a decision because I KNEW that I was getting one. I typically like to know as much as I can when I’m interested in something. Maybe you should have gotten an EB, which is Turbocharged, and it is still a Mustang!! If you want an exhilarating V8, maybe you should trade it in for an Exotic since you can get buy what you want. Just saying …..

Sounds like guy has probably never owned a V8 and is misinterpreting low-rpm torque of turbocharged small engines as being faster because it feels that way in low speed daily driving

I feel you and tbh i cant say you re wrong but Mustangs are also and I’d say mostly bought by emotional-sentimental reasons . And I definitely dont regret buying mine. I would not, for example, test drive a Camaro or a Challenger-Charger to compare. My GT, she’s something ai always dreamt about having - because of many reasons not related to its performance necessarily.

And nah, I would not have bought the turbocharged. It would feel I did not get what I wanted after all. I do like the feeling of looking at that 5.0 and listening the engine roar.

And as I said, as much as it hurts for Mustang experts to see cars being bought by noobs like me, Im in peace with that

i pretty much need to know if the car behaves as it should. If by the end I find out it was just a matter of being a noob driver, I ll gladly shut up and drive my GT as happy as someone can be.

Thats a possibility. I surelly never had a V8. In fact I never owned anyone above a 4cc.

It's more than a feeling if you're lugging the V8. Rev it out and you'll love it.

Well, point taken. I too, have longed for Mustangs for some time now. After going through 3 Porsche’s (2 986’s and a 987c, sadly didn’t get to the 911 platform but not sure that would have made a difference for me) and finally getting to what I really wanted, I am so pleased that I am here (2 Mustangs prior and the S650 makes 3 ). My purchase and ownership of Mustangs is personal and also Sentimental to me as well. I only mentioned EB be used I had one of those too and the feeling of it spooling up is quite nice and fun. True …. As a close friend told me one “There is no Replacement for Displacement” and he was so RIGHT!! Throttle response manual the difference in the Drive modes so maybe indeed, you do have an issue be it Computer driven or possibly mechanical. I do truly hope that they can get to the bottom of it so that you may enjoy what the rest of us Grin about quite a bit … the Power of the Coyote.

We were all Noobs with our first (very first) Mustang purchases so I wouldn’t say that that’s a good reason to not know about what to expect from a vehicle. Enjoy your Pony and drive it like you stole it!!

Not sure on the specs of your car, but to change this feeling, you'll want to change out the rear gears out. If you're driving a non performance package automatic trans car, upgrading to the 3.55 from the 3.15s will make acceleration feel much better. I see you're in Jersey. I'd recommend going to Evolution Performance and they will fix you up.

I had them do that exact conversion on my 2016 GT
