$79 Subwoofer Upgrade (Pioneer TS-A250D4 10" Sub) - IT SOUNDS GREAT!

You'll have to let us know what you think once you've got it installed. I was going to have mine swapped and impressions given, but found a nice 3 inch scratch on the driver's side fender this morning. Just dropped it off at the ceramic coater to see if they can fix it or fender needs to be repainted... F'ng kids, haha

I found one on mine a few weeks ago. Made the appointment with my detailer (ceramic coater), but had to postpone due to COVID. Now I have to reschedule. It's very light, but I notice it. No idea where it came from. I literally hand sprayed the car that AM with nothing but water (spray car wash). Dried it with the Dewalt. Looked great. Drove ~50 miles to work. When I got out, there was a light scratch about 3" long on the driver's side fender. Probably something flew up from another vehicle and I just didn't notice it happening.

Nothing is sacred anymore ... LOL.

Yeah, I remember your post about it, you're lucky, mine is pretty deep. He's going to have to try filling it with paint, wet sanding, then buffing it out. If it still looks like shit, I'll have my paint guy reshoot the fender. Extremely frustrating, but it is what it is.

Fairly certain mine came from girlfriends kid and his buddy. I've caught his buddy sitting on the hood twice, and he's been warned he's no longer welcome if it happens again. Front left fender and the Bronco parked next to it, is the tightest spot when walking into the garage. They were in a hurry to go somewhere last night, and I just feel they tried running out and banged something against it in their hurry. Of course, "Nah, I have no clue how that would happen", haha.

I did wrap mine in dynamat because I added an amp. At higher volumes you could hear the cracking sound of the enclosure flexing. Solved the problem. If you're not adding an amp it probably won't be necessary.

What did you use for the amp input signal?

Pretty sure he meant if you connected to the rear speakers or used the original sub wires.

I wonder if the sub wires still get their signal when no sub is connected to them.
Some cars check electronically if the speaker supposed to be connected works and if not turn off the signal for it.

Looking at doing a Sundown SML 10D2 sub in the OEM enclosure, and Sundown SAEV4 1000.1D amp. LC7i for signal.

99% sure it's just the ceramic coating and, if anything deeper, just barely on/in the clear coat - buff it out and reapply ceramic at worst.

For the signal, yes. out of that to the amp and from the amp to the sub
