Does anyone know of an aftermarket HUD that displays the gear shifts (1,2,3,etc) when using paddle shifters? I want to use manual mode more often but I also need to keep my eyes on the road. The ones I've found look to only show mileage/RPM.

I don’t know… I would care more about RPM… I just would need to know when to shift
Could care less if I’m in 5th or 6th…

I'm new to using them and need to see the gear changes. Anyone know of one that shows it? I don't care if it's cheap looking.

Just enable continuous gear display and the current gear will be shown no matter what mode you are in (manual or auto). No need for HUD bullshit.

I’ll have clues for $500, @roadpilot !
( where is that option set, I’ve been toying with various menus for ... probably about 2 hours total.

AHA! I have several FORSCAN mods to the Rap. I’ll have a look at the Mustang specific data. I saw some posts about the ’24 MY Mustangs having difficulty with Forscan, I’ll do some more studying.

You don't even need to edit the HEX values for this one, @smurfslayer. Use the easy mode screen for the IPC module:

IDK y’alls experience, but over on FRF the plug into the obd port aftermarket HUD gained a reputation for causing diagnostic trouble codes. For the Rap I think the 19 and later models are more sensitive to interference, network or harness tapping, etc.

That would still require me to look down, that's why I want an aftermarket HUD

I'm curious if you've used a HUD before? You still have to change your focal point to the windshield projection like you would to the dash. I personally find it more distracting and stressful on my eyes than shifting my focus to the dash. To each their own.

I used it in a Camaro and loved it, was able to keep my eyes on the road and see the gears/RPM
