Front Pony Removal

Has anyone removed their pony grille emblem yet? I'd like to swap mine for a black one. I'm curious if they just pop off or if there's more to it.

I would like a grill with the Dark Horse Emblem.

You can easily buy a can of plati-dip in black & paint the pony emblem. Just make sure to put tape around it before hand. I did it to my '19 GT. Very easy. I haven't decided if I wanted to do it to my '24 yet.

I remember reading that on the 24 the emblem is bolted on with couple of nuts and you don’t have to break the tabs like many did on the 15-23 grills.

Chrome: PR3Z-8A224-A
Black: PR3Z-8A224-B
Bronze: PR3Z-8A224-C
Dark Tarnish (DH): PR3Z-8A224-D

I did the swap tonight. Easy, but tedious. The new one uses screws vs posts/tape. The above link is pretty accurate on what's involved.

Also, for those wondering, the rest of the emblems (Trunk GT, Side 5.0s) can be easily removed with a heat gun and dental floss.

How the S650 front pony emblem is affixed to the grille differs from the S550, as seen in this timely video from CJs.

You still have to remove the front bumper assembly though.
