I had the day off today so I figured I'd try to find a Ford dealer near me with a 24 in stock. Found one about 45 min away with a white GT Premium on their site. Kept my fingers crossed that it would still be there when I arrived, and luckily it was.
This was my first time seeing one in-person, and I even got to take it out. Beautiful car in white (even though I'm not looking for that color). It had the active valve exhaust, 401A package, and automatic transmission. I was looking for a stick but beggars can't be choosers.
I thought it drove like a charm. The sound of that engine is nothing short of amazing. It growls on acceleration, but then settles and quiets down once you reach cruising speed. The quiet mode is really impressive too. I can't believe how much quieter it got. The transmission was smooth as butter. I thought the sound system sounded good but nothing that knocked my socks off. Seats were comfortable. The video screens looked terrific and were not distracting at all while driving. It did take me a minute or two to figure out how to adjust the radio, heated seats, climate, exhaust. But once I found it it was pretty intuitive after that. The whole experience definitely convinced me to buy one.
They also had a light blue Ecoboost convertible. The color looks so much better in person than it does in photos. AND ... they had a Dark Horse in stock, ready for sale, for only $15K above sticker. It was my first time seeing Dark Matter Gray in real life and WOW that is a gorgeous color. Now leaning towards that over black. A little more "interesting" than straight black, and it shows off the black accented panels a lot more in my opinion.
Anyway, a couple photos for ya. If anyone is interested in any of these cars send me a message and I'll get you the info.
