✨ FINALLY GOT IT WORKED OUT! ✨

For anyone with a 2026 401A Mustang GT who was bummed about Ford de-contenting the illuminated door sills this year—there is hope! If you grab a set of the factory plates and plug them into the hidden harness tracks, you can officially get them activated and lighting up using FORScan! 💻🐎

(For anyone looking to buy the physical sills, you can source a set of OEM factory "take-offs" from a 2024–2025 Premium model or look up Ford's Illuminated Door Sill Kit).

⚠ DISCLAIMER: Using FORScan always comes with built-in risks of messing up your car's modules, so please do this completely at your own discretion. I cannot guarantee this exact value will work for future Over-The-Air updates or any other model year.

If you want to try it yourself, the exact block and value that need to be changed are highlighted in one of my pictures below. 📸👇

Huge shoutout to @thatvaporsblue650_ on Instagram for finding the fix—I can’t take the credit for cracking the code, but I can confirm it works!

Nice! Conrats on getting it to work. Does anyone know why Ford discontinued the illumated door sills, yet still keep the harness for them to work installed inside the car?

Does anyone know why they even discontinued them in the first place?

I think they are the same as the s550, not 100% sure. If so then I think it's because they ran out of parts. The s650 uses a lot of parts from the s550, just like the shift knob for the auto, the door handles, the sunglass holder in the dash etc. Probably they ran out of the parts, just like the sunglass holder wich doesn't come on the new s650 convertible anymore.

I know my 24 Dark Horse premium did not have them.

Wow. Those addresses are listed as 'Flexible_2_Ckt_Usage_Cfg' through 'Flexible_6_Ckt_Usage_Cfg' and the values showing in the OP's post aren't even supposed to be an option according to Livinitup's spreadsheet. 😒

Probability either a parts shortage or a dispute with the supplier. They must have determined it was cheaper to eliminate the lights and keep the harness. Id guess the cost to redesign the harness was greater than leaving it.

And I can guarantee, if they sell lighted sills aftermarket, that's why the harnesses were left unmodified. There's a LOT of mark-up in aftermarket parts. Having worked in the automotive manufacturing industry, you'd be surprised how such intentional strategies to improve profitability are made in closed-door conferences.

@Whoznex ..... great post. Question: when you find code line 726-37-02 do you click on restore or write to activate the code? BTW I ordered two, was called into the dealer to pick them up. Paid for them while a parts guy went to the back to get them. He came back without them and said he guessed they hadn't shipped. Ha Ha - I think I know what happened to them. Anyway here's a tip from me. When I wanted to install a kill switch on my 2024 GT I called Ford Client Service they heard me out, agreed (I was shocked) gave me a file number and said I had to have a Ford dealer contact them before the install to confirm and it WOULD be covered by warranty. So, obviously, this time I will call and using your kindly provided directions see if Ford will cover the installation under warranty if a Ford dealer does the install and programming. If so I'll get a case number for any future potential warranty hassles. thanks again for posting.
