Not too wild about my coolant overflow tank 2024 ecoboost 2200 miles. Oil looks ok, no foamyness in there. Keeping a close eye on her. Might remove the tank and clean it and see if it comes back. Tempted not too, if I need it as evidence to do some cylinder head work, gasket, crack, etc.....

Anybody know the transmission fluid color in the 19r80? Muck in tank looks reddish. Wondering about the cooler too now.

The 10R80 uses Mercon fluid, which is red.

Does the transmission seem a bit off? The engine running hotter than expected?

Hard to tell for sure. Going to figure out how to see the transmission fluid color. See if there's some foaming in it. Was playing with sport mode vs normal. Might leave it in normal for awhile. Also using the highway to anoter job site vs ounty route to my main job site.

Since the cooler is external, it's easy to pressure test too. Put a coolant pressure tester on it with the transmission side disconnected.

Trans temp is around 196. Coolant is 205 or so. I look more at the gauge than the numbers, stays the same spot.

Some cars have casting sand in their coolant leftover from casting.

Atleast watching that bottle like a hawk.....

Changed the oil over the weekend. Got about 300 miles on it or so. Old oil seemed ok. Really noticed it after changing the oil. Dipstick looked clear with no foam on the stick above the level. Seems just fine there.

Bought the car in Virginia and drove it to NY. So would have to go to another dealer for warranty work.

Update.

Doesn't seem any worse. Did notice it's a little bit lower than it was before. Close to the min mark. Checked it cold, not ran in a day or two.

Pinkish color reminds me of dow o-ring grease I used when working on gas turbines at a power plant.

Mine went down a bit too. The car has been in the garage since mid november though. Need to trickle charge the battery this week. Took it out a week go to wash it.
