Wind Buffeting

It's true. My '25 has horrible wind noise and it flapps the seatbelts violently. My '14 was bad, but not as bas as the '25.

I have a '71 Mach 1 and it's DEAD still and quiet inside with windows down at 80. It must punch a huge hole in the air.

I think that modern cars really keep the air sucked to the surface for fuel mileage - smaller hole the car punches in the air, less drag to eat gas.

Guess that's the price you pay for 500 hp and 23 mpg. My '71 gets under 10 mpg for the same HP.

As some have said, air flow through the car helps with the buffetting... open the trunk... but it is an issue with most new cars as they are airtight. Old cars were never a problem... not built airtight.

Newer cars weren't meant to drive with windows down. They have much better AC systems than the old cars ever did.

Or, just drive with your windows down and hang your head out with your tongue out like your dog is doing on the other side.......

Mine are down almost 100% of the time unless it’s raining or I have a passenger

Problem is people think windows down = I want to talk to people lol

I never drive over 45 MPH with the windows down. More than that; it's windows up, and HVAC on "vents and fan" or the AC is on if required, or heat during the bbbbrrrr (comin' up fast!) months.

I agree! Highway speeds, I have the top down, windows up, and A/C going. The only change I make is the temperature of the A/C. No real buffeting problem, but plenty of wind! Glenn

That's the answer...Older cars had the aerodynamics of a brick wall. Wind didn't have a chance to get near the windows...lol.
