USB near instrument panel drawing power when vehicle is OFF?

installed ambient lighting that plugs into the USB Type-A port next to the shifter on my 2024 Mustang GT. After four days, the Ford app warned me that the battery was low.

Does this specific USB port stay powered when the car is off and locked, allowing plugged-in accessories to drain the battery? The owner’s manual mentions USB ports in the lower instrument panel and center console, but it doesn’t clearly state whether they shut off with the ignition.

What has been the real-world experience with this on the 2024 Mustang GT?

I used that for phone charging, the phone stays plugged in all the time. I'm pretty sure it powers off after a while, my battery never went flat.

Yes, it powers off after 30 minutes or so.

I had this issue, but I was plugging the lights into the main console storage,

what did was I went to As built BDYcm on forscan and changed

726-57-01 > 1194 - 0100 - 022D

Changed 1194 to 000F for short 15 secs plug time

this makes it so the plugs turn off completely after the car is off in 15 secs.

Changed 1194 to 000F for short 15 secs plug time

this makes it so the plugs turn off completely after the car is off in 15 secs.

1194 is a certain time in hex value so idk how much that is I forgot, but my new value is 15 seconds in hex

It does shut off, but not "immediately" per se. It remains powered for a few minutes after turning car off. As for battery drain my '24 GT will send battery saver mode message when I don't drive it for several days. Car consumes quite a bit of power setting still in the garage. I had an issue once of software download failure, even without having the battery saver mode in an active state. I just put it in on a battery tender now if I know I won't be driving for a while. The GT isn't a daily driver, it only sees clear skies, lol.

The message was when I didn't drive it for 2-3 days so not sure if that's long enough, I have disconnected the ambient USB for now and will be testing if not driving it for a while with the USB ambient disconnected triggers the message.
