No, I’m positive. It will be a leaker or some Russia hacker team of contractors that will crack it. That’s what happened to the 2018+ Mopars. Someone leaked the way you can unlock them, and then the industry took off with it.
I highly doubt Ford is going to offer anything to anyone that isn’t a paying Ford partner. Besides it looks like Ford is going to release a procal for the Mustang GT and dark horse. That’s what some of the people in the industry are saying right now.
I understand but my point is in 2018 when whoever cracked it the ECUs were not as integrated with a centralized Ford infrastructure. So yes, they will crack it, and Ford can come right behind them and relook it.

My fear is you would have to completely disconnect the car from phoning home.

I hope Ford does what you say in the end and offers their own solution.

that depends on the level of hack used. If it’s all software then sure. If it’s firmware level then maybe? If it’s a real hardware hack like on the mopars, then absolutely not. Currently on the 2018+ mopar cars you have to send in your PCM to be hardware unlocked to HPT then you also need to install a security bypass harness inside the car under the dash to bypass the encryption module to be able to even read/flash the new unlocked PCM.
