The "chip" tuners essentially are simply resistors and such to trick your computer make the car run leaner. They don't tune anything, they just give the computer false information by masking what it receives so that your car computer adjusts as if your AFR is different from what it actually is.

I looked into Thorton Chip Tuning when I was researching upgrades for my 2022 GT. Honestly, most of what I read was pretty skeptical. I ended up going with a Ford Mustang performance chip from a more established brand (I used Monte Tuning), and it made a noticeable difference in throttle response and low-end torque. Thorton’s claims just felt too good to be true, especially without real dyno data.
