I'm sorry, idk what PUP stands for?

as for temps, I’d prefer between 230-250 under hard load in high ambient temps.

Yeah same here. Done a lot of research and can’t find a reason to change weight yet. But next track session going into the summer here in TX with these temp I am strongly considering moving up to at least a 40 weight.
I've thought about the same thing, but am uncertain if it is beneficial or necessary. I'm certainly no oil expert. I track in Georgia, Florida and Alabama, so we get some pretty significant heat as well.

Thanks to all for the helpful information. Yea, I discovered that there is no dedicated oil temperature sensor while searching the Ford Workshop Manual. lol ! First time I have ever seen that. FWIW in my picture I'm running sport mode with the exception of the exhaust which is in track mode. I think I'm just going to leave things alone because if I install the cooler and nothing much changes on the display, it will surely set off my OCS

I'm running Motorcraft 5w-30 full synthetic. There are all kinds of opinions out there, but as best I can tell, the Motorcraft oil is a quality product, so I don't see a reason to go with something else because someone says it is better. I've also looked into going to a heavier weight oil for the track, but again I haven't found any definitive data which shows it is better in a stock Coyote.
Older track pack spec coyotes and the Boss 302s used to call for 5w50 OE.

the oil will be physically cooler but the computer won’t show the updated temps because the temps are estimated there is no oil temp sensor. I’ve added and enabled the oil cooler in forscan and still no luck getting the temps to show lower. The performance packs have a different pcm strategy. @Cool66 and I have been trying to figure this out for a little bit now but still no luck.
Do you think the dealer would be able to figure this one out? I was planning on having the dealership install once I buy it, but it would be pretty lame if the temps were inaccurate.

Possibly. Not sure. I’ve heard you might need to flash the performance pack pcm strategy which I’m not going to risk because I’m on a whipple tune or calibration whatever you want to call it so I don’t want to mess any of that up

Racers typically try to stay between 230-260°F. And that's with a lot of aftermarket cooling mods. It is difficult to do in a street car.
Oil additives begin to degrade at 270°F so really as long as you stay under 270, you are fine. That's not to say if you hit 290°F one weekend that your engine will immediately explode, just that degradation has begun. Change the oil and good to go.

For a point of reference: I have a Mishimoto oil cooler on my 2018 with an aftermarket grille and hood vents and my oil temps peaked at 264 in 77° ambient. That's with an actual oil temp gauge.
Before the cooler, my inferred gauge showed ~280-290°
