The conversation got to the question of tinting the headlamp covers with a % (in most States) that would be legal on a passenger window? Any guidelines on this subject?

Is no guidelines, you're gonna get most people on here telling you not to do it, unsafe, illegal, etc... it's your car, your money, your possible ticket, your possible denied insurance claim, blah, blah, blah... 😂

Mine are tinted 20%, have zero problems seeing at night

Don't you want to see where you're going and for other people to see you at night? They aren't cool either. You asked for it so take it like a man.

As you can see, mine are quite dark. No clue what the tint level is, they were purchased this way.
These most certainly do affect one's ability to see at night, which is why I made sure that I have a way to take them off and put them back on quickly and easily.

Those are covers? They fit nice and snug! I've tried covers on other vehicles and they never fit correct, could see light shining out on the edges

How easy are they to remove or reinstall?

I don't drive much at night. Always take cabs to raves and such:rockon:, or the chiropractor next day.
But when I do I want to see and be seen.
Other's may not agree.

Well, if you use the 2-sided tape that comes installed on them, probably not very.
I peeled that off, found a couple of small, black Phillips head screws at the local auto parts store, put everything in place, drilled 2 small holes through the cover and clear plastic of the headlight, and use the screws to hold the covers in place.

I can pull them off or put them on in about 5min using just a Phillips head screw driver I keep in the glove box. I also always put the screws back into the headlight whether the covers are on or off. This helps me to not lose them and keeps the headlights sealed up so no moisture can get in them.

I can take some close up pictures tomorrow evening if anyone wants a better look at what I did.

Am I reading this right? You drilled into the clear part of the headlight and screwed the covers (drilled the covers too) onto the headlight?

Got pictures of installed, in between, and uninstalled?

you drilled thru the headlight lenses? good luck with water intrusion and getting the lights to last very long. don't ask for a warranty fix because they will laugh at you.
