To preface this post, I'm not posting to be political. Just trying to get an understanding. Anyone have an idea as to the impact the dock worker strike will have on upcoming orders.

I have mine scheduled 11.4.24. Not sure if they already have the supplies on site to build or not. One would think since that order is just a month away they should have those parts on hand?

Just looking to see how impactful this strike is going to be and how it will restrict the components needed to fill these orders and build these vehicles.

I'd say it's going to depend on how long it goes on. 1-4 days, I'd think minimal delays. Beyond that and we will likely see a cascade effect of shortages as things stack up

Ford runs an incredibly lean inventory, what we used to call JIT, or "Just in time"

Many of the parts for your build are not even made yet.

If this goes on for more than a few days, long enough for the union to get their point across, I predict President whoever is running the country these days will call for a cooling off period which IIRC is 40 days

As long as the West Coast is open the Chinese made consumer goods can be brought in and Christmas will be saved.

There should be a "safety stock" which is usually the amount of 1 order or enough production parts to keep the line moving should an order for parts not be received. That might give them a cushion for any parts that are coming into an east coast/gulf port for a week or so.

If it gets serious the government can force them to continue to work through negotiations, they did it to the rail workers.

it’s just for pics/politics, rah rah etc…

From what I have read it seems that each day the strike continues will delay all future imports one week...

Let's hope this can be resolved quickly.

I live in a port town & I was told that if the port was closed for just one day, it would take 4 to 5 days of work to make up for that.
