I don’t have a check engine light, I used autozone spark defoulers
And no, we don’t have any emissions testing in Mi.

if we did I’d be driving a Tesla plaid by next week.

Thanks everyone for input. I’m only daily driving mine and don’t plan to do any racing. I believe if Ford needed cats to be replaced or removed they would have required it. I’ve had GT500s and daily driving them I rarely got into heavy boost. Again I appreciate all the input. I’ve ordered my kit and it will be installed at a local dealership that I trust.

You could buy cats for this level of power that would live, but, you'll lose some hp and noise, and they are expensive AF.
I doubt you would lose any horsepower. Some of those cats have 4" inlets and outlets. They are made for flow in addition to being made to live with extremely high horsepower.

OP, the gt500 and DHSC have a larger 2-3/4” cat piping with a stronger honeycomb design.

The OEM cats on the 5.2 are excellent as far as having to have them.

Maybe someone else will remember more, but I recall reading that even the cats you get with the headers are good for maybe 500hp, which I am assuming is crankshaft hp. Stage 1 whipple is putting out about 800 crankshaft hp, and more. Stage 2 can be 700+ to the wheels or more.
Depends, I haven't had any issue with the cats that come with my Kooks headers, and if you really need more than that there's GESI cats

Depends, I haven't had any issue with the cats that come with my Kooks headers, and if you really need more than that there's GESI cats
Good reminder.
I looked at the GESI as well, and they're pricey for these kinds of HP levels.
