Hey all, me again…
Still have not gotten software updates and I’ve owned the car for over 5 months now… 2nd owner.

I called ford and they see an update attempted before I purchased it but it failed (no explanation) and there was nothing they could do… told me to just wait till next

Anyone have any suggestions? I am shocked there is not an API call that can be made to queue an update based on a ViN but whatever…

Any ideas?

either wait or you can update with fdrs but it costs a lot of money to get the tools to do so or maybe someone with those tools can help you for free or charge you for it

The Dealership can update it for you. It should be covered by the warranty. I would confirm that first.

It's not uncommon to go 5 months with no updates... If you bought used, make sure that all of the software update settings are on in vehicle settings, in case previous owner turned off. Most dealers will not update the software just because you want it updated. Normally they only do it if there is a TSB or they are doing a repair procedure. If an update failed, it will eventually be tried again.

Unfortunately, the OTA process is unpredictable and unreliable. There is nothing you can do to force an OTA to be sent to your car. From what I have seen, very few updates have been released for these vehicles since they came out in 2024. Assuming you do have a few updates, the dealer will most likely not help because Ford does not pay them to update modules just because they are out of date. There would have to be a recall that requires a module to be updated, or a problem that a module update will fix. OTA's fail all the time.
