I have my 2026 Mustang GT booked into the dealership for Monday to have them look at this problem, but I am curious if anybody has encountered the same issue.

My Sync4 infotainment system crashes during about 50% of all the trips I'm making in the car. Sometimes it happens early on in my trip, and other times after an hour of driving. It is inconsistent. I will be just listening to music, or I'm in a phone call, and the audio randomly cuts out entirely. Then I notice my center console screen has frozen up (touch screen no longer responds and no response to physical buttons either). Sometimes the infotainment system resets itself when this happens. Screen goes black and then the system restarts. Other times its entirely frozen and I have to pull over, shut off the car, wait for all screens to go dark and then restart the engine to get it going again.

I have a feeling this could have something to do with Android Auto, as it happens every time I'm doing things with my phone. For example listening to Youtube Music or making a phone call. Today I was in a phone call with somebody and the infotainment system crashed twice during the call. Audio cuts out, screen goes black and it restarted itself. I have a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Has anyone experienced this with their Sync4 system and knows of any solutions? I am running the latest software update. No other updates available.

I work in IT myself and I know how extremely difficult software glitches are to troubleshoot if they are not happening in the moment. I fear that when I bring it to the dealership on Monday that the crashes won't occur in their shop and then they just give it back to me saying they can't find anything wrong with it. So if anyone has experienced this before and has found a fix for it I'd be very happy to hear. The frequent crashes are driving me nuts.

@Scryden .... does the disruption last long enough to video it? That would help a tech. We have the Samsung S25 and have had no issues with either the 2024 or 2026 GT.

fyi volume down and right on the steering wheel is the reset so you don't have to turn off and back on

Good point. Next time I have to pull over for it I will record it. Most of the times it sorts itself out while I'm driving though. I see the screen go black, then the pony loading screen and then its back on. I'll see if I can grab my phone quickly enough to record it.

Try BT only and see what happens. Delete AA profile
I did entirely delete my phone before and re-paired it, but have not yet tried with just BT alone. I will give that a try.

Noted, thanks. That's a lot easier than having to pull over. Still new to this car so I'm still learning all these tricks :)

Another thing to try is plug in via USB and see what happens
