‘a user selectable default setting should be an option’And again. Getting boring now.
We all know why stop/start is fitted and the benefits. You keep banging your political injustice drum![]()

Which totally defeats the object of emissions controls - they must default to on at startup - which is exactly what they do. You are lucky there is an off switch at all!‘a user selectable default setting should be an option’
Then why the on/off switch to start with? So we’re ’lucky’ they are permitting us the ability of override their control. Wow you said a lot with those statements.Which totally defeats the object of emissions controls - they must default to on at startup - which is exactly what they do. Blah blah - 'they' are trying to control me, blah blah. Then why the on/off switch to start with? So we’re ’lucky’ they are permitting us the ability of override their control. Wow you said a lot with those statements.
Simply asked for an option and this is the response?Blah blah - 'they' are trying to control me, blah blah.
I suppose you will be moaning about ABS next, or catalysts, or power steering.
Keep shouting at the sky...
First day on the Internet?Simply asked for an option and this is the response?
Manual does have it but from what I understand it only activates when brake pedal depressed, car in neutral, clutch pedal in full OUT position. So if you leave the clutch depressed at lights it won't ever stop the engine. Obviously you can simply turn the system off at startup which is what I intend to do.I would assume the manual doesn't have this feature, which makes buying it the simple solution, heh.
No[t] really. Been around since it was found but I digress.First day on the Internet?
It will all be OK, hoping none of our cars have the Communist Auto Start/Stop
Again nothing weird at all - exactly how it is supposed to workNo[t] really. Been around since it was found but I digress.
just weird we have to deactivate a function that is intended to disrupt the function of the initial action. Start then stop the stop of stopping the start?
An option that will never be available and you know why. Stop playing the victimSimply asked for an option and this is the response?
The complexity of the system is dwarfed by the efforts expended on clean fuels? I’ve only heard politicians declare emissions are a human rights issue so if you’d like to discuss control we can. Otherwise let’s proceed with the need for an option. An option that will never be available and you know why. Stop playing the victim![]()
sports mode automatically turns start/stop off - another trick is setting that feature off within your profile settings and then switch to that profile using the steering wheel controls at start up. Only thing is every start up, you’ll have to switch to that profile or switch to sports modeIn my F 150 if I switch to the sport mode in automatically turns off the auto start/stop and is easy to turn off, I would love to know if it turns off in the S650 as well.
You could look for a job 1 Mustang on a lot somewhere. That is also an option. Auto stop eliminator should also have something soon, hopefully. Otherwise it's gonna be pressing an extra button after start up. Inconvenient? Yes. End of the world? Not exactly. Wife's Acura has it and it's just part of the startup process: engine start, Auto stop off, seat belt on, brake off, select a gear and go. Really no more annoying than shifting gears. Am I glad my car doesn't have it? Yes. If it came with it I wouldn't give it much attention. Not really.Simply asked for an option and this is the response?
It will never be an option and you know why. Whether you or anybody feels it is a 'need' is irrelevant. If you are that bothered put your thoughts to the regulatory authorities, but be prepared to be disappointed! Type Approval is a complex area with strict regulations, especially on emissions. The complexity of the system is dwarfed by the efforts expended on clean fuels?
