A couple days ago while arriving back home I accidentally hit my accelerator instead of the brake and hit the back of my garage. Luckily the garage was fine and all the damage caused to the car was cosmetic. I took it to fords collision repair shop and wanted to make sure the quote I received from them seems fair. I’ve attached photos of the damage below and the estimate to fix it. Also I didn’t get a pre collision alert, and never have while driving, is the system unreliable or do you think there’s something wrong with mine? Thank you.

I had similar damage on a car 2-3 years ago for the same problem, but mine happened in a parking lot, and I hit a pole. My damages were close to 8K. Glenn

I wasn't going to post this, but maybe it'll make you feel better. An 88 yo man was kind enough to execute a left hand turn directly into my 4 day old new car (he was 100% at fault). $11k estimate, god forbid there's suspension damage, who knows how bad that'll get. Thankfully his insurance is footing the bill.

Damn that sucks man... I don't know how they even repair that--cut out the original RQP and weld in a new one?

Honestly if it were me I would want the responsible party's insurance to buy out the car since it's so new and I'd get a new one.

nothing wrong with pre collision, just the driver :)
If you care about keeping the car have it fixed correctly at a competent Ford bodyshop. I think it will cost more than the estimate after they take it apart. Maybe 8 or 9K to make it just like new.
Cheap out and you will regret it in the future.

Replacing it probably isn't realistic, even if they wanted to. It's a 401a 60th car with a Manual and it's very hard to find anything remotely comparable around here. Worse when you factor in I got it at $9k off sticker.

As for the repairs, yeah they're completely replacing the Quarter panel, along with the bumper cover and the left rear wheel/tire.

I want you to reach out to Billy at Collision Safety Consultants

https://collisionsafetyconsultants.com/

Even if his insurance pays to repair the car, you have a huge secondary loss on the value of the car because it will now probably have a dirty Carfax and or the repair will be detected by someone when you go to sell it and you will lose thousands on the resale

In insurance terms it is called diminished value.

Billy's fee is $600. He will get you multiples of that back.

If it is a total loss for some reason, he will help you get maximum value for the car and not the CCC Valuescope valuation that is ALWAYS several thousand dollars below actual cash value.

I do not handle diminished value claims, Billy is the "Big Dog" in that field and I have no reservations about recommending him to you. You can thank me later by dropping $10 in the Salvation Army kettle next Christmas.

$11K does not even start to address the damage on that car.

I already have a diminished value claim in on the car, but I'll definitely reach out to him if they come back with a number I don't like. They've actually been really decent so far and haven't tried to fight me on anything.

That sucks! Did they get you for murder one or two? Even at 78 and 300 days, I would still have lost it! Sorry, guy. I hope the bad news is over! Glenn

He’s good at what he does. Second that recommendation.
