Just noticed this morning, hot on the heels of the RTR EB announcement, RTR has JACKED prices on their parts to the moon.
S650 Mustang RTR Price Jump 1760964945894-qo

Duckbill spoiler: I paid $340 shipped after mil discount, now listed for $499.99. Looks like the same shenanigans on the side skirts etc. Could also be build up to black Friday, but have to say I'm not a fan of the strategy @RTR Vehicles.

Possibly a black friday buildup to then discount to the original price, but also could be a general increase due to materials cost, tariffs, or shipping going up as well. This might be next years price once the black friday deals are gone.

Could be tariff induced, depleted old stock… supposedly 6-9 month supply chain lag so makes sense

that’s not a 3 or 5 percent inflationary increase… that’s like 30% plus

Theres adjusting for inflation and cost/supply then there is being greedy. I like their side skirts found them on ebay for 188 they want 499 usd for them. Btw the parts are identical minus the little rtr logo on the underside. Even has the exact same mounting hardware.

Yeah, AVOID greed. It's out there. I took cost accounting in college and came out with two degrees, one business, one engineering so I can be a little dangerous, LOL!

Have you looked at their RTR spec cars? Prices are absolutely criminal so I'm not surprised about the spoiler price increase.

This is 10000 percent correct........

I work in the automotive aftermarket.......all of these "news" places running around saying whatever......they dont understand how supply chain works.....right about now is when you will start seeing the true effect of the tariffs on auto parts (and Im sure the same with other industries as well)......from a retail perspective you are going to tons of auto parts going up in price right about now and in the next few months .....

Just look at the news reports as well on how much auto manufactures are absorbing tariffs at this time...that won't last forever......have a few friends that live in that side of the world and what he is hearing is that most manufactures will be edging the price up a little bit every so often as no one wanted to come out and do one massive increase and take the negative publicity that would come with it.....

I won't get into whether I think the tariffs are wrong or right ....but I will say this.......you can't just build a new manufacturing plant in the US overnight... or even in a year.....and well.....

Even if you could build a part in the US for less........ if you could profitably sell a part to customer A at $50 - but because of tariffs all of your competitors are selling that part to the customer for $80 because of tariffs - do you think the US company will sell it for $50? nope they will sell it for $79 and take all that profit to the bank.....rich going to rich .....

And as a former Roush truck owner......be prepared to take a massive financial hit when it comes time to sell......the RTR cars will depreciate MUCH MUCH MUCH faster then say a Dark Horse....just like the Roush cars and trucks do.....

Thanks for bringing this up — we totally understand the concern. Some of our 2024+ Mustang components have seen a slight price increase. With all the supply chain challenges overseas, we decided to move production to U.S. suppliers. While this comes with higher costs, it also allows us to proudly say these parts are now made here in the U.S. with even greater quality control and shorter lead times.
