looks like i actually misread the tracking. it arrived in California and will be given to USPS soon. i hope you get yours quickly!

I know you have already ordered Bronco lamp switch which is similar or F-150, mustang, Mach E, explorer This lincoln lamp switch seems a good fit, if you want to replace the whole panel with additional switches already. The port also seems same(may just need to play with Forscan if required). Just a thought, you can modify as per your vision.

i want it to have an OEM look, hence why i went with a Ford switch. that one looks very fancy schmancy, definitly not Ford. since my main plan was to put some laser jammer controls on it, i want it to look as inconspicuous as possible. plus, i am a stickler for aftermarket parts needing to blend in when i dont want it to be obvious

Ford loves to cause headaches. apparently those double buttons are different than normal buttons in that, instead of being made of translucent white polycarbonate like the headlamp switch, they are made of transparent polycarbonate, with the white being a coating under the black

Mine is stuck at costums for 3 days now.
I was wondering, do we have to pay import taxes on top of what we already paid?
This dashcam came from China. Wondering if this tarrif stuff has affect on this.

i finally got the second headlamp switch. just one problem, though...

i broke one of the circuit boards like an idiot. i originally wanted to remove the connector so i could solder wires to the pads, but my soldering iron, which i now know is bad and was poorly maintained, refused to heat up the solder enough to release the connector. that made me try cutting the connector, which worked... but completely wrecked the traces. this sucks. this was the circuit board for the right buttons, too, which stings even more

bad news: my dash cam is still stuck in customs.
good news: i finally completed one of the buttons! and it works!

red is backlight +, white is backlight -, magenta and black are the upper button, and pink and brown are the lower button. multimeter confirmed that a circuit is completed when the buttons are pressed, and it still feels like a factory button cluster would. here is some additional info i learned:
Ford always uses a pair of interlaced contacts, never just one, and they are in parallel, not in series. on this particular cluster, + voltage goes in one pin to one side of all four contacts. the membrane is pressed down by the button itself and causes a conductive material to connect both sides of the contact, sending the + voltage out another pin from the cluster, to the BCM, which then activates the appropriate mirror light. a similar principal is used for the left buttons. the fog light buttons, though, complete a circuit that then gets turned into a LIN signal to tell the BCM to activate the fog light. that is going to make hijacking those buttons much more difficult, but i am sure i can do it
