I've just recently received my new 'vert, but the tint guy cut into the rear moulding on the outside of the rear quarter glass window.

I'm working with the dealership to get this resolved, but while researching, I couldn't find any information on how to remove that whole piece from the car. So I don't know if it requires removing the whole top or not.

About the closest I can find is in the workshop manual for replacing the rear quarter glass/motor -- but that's taking a good chunk of the interior apart just to pop the front corner of that large strip up.

(are there separate shop manuals for trim pieces or something?)

it's an awefully big piece of trim too.. think I preferred the multiple pieces on my old '07..

Ouch, that sucks.

Based on your need to research this, I’m guessing it wasn’t the dealer’s tint guy? If it were, I’d hope they’d just take care of the screw-up with their subcontractor and deliver your sweet new ride fully repaired and good as new.

If only...

It was the dealership's tint guy, and the service manager commented (rather glibly IMO) that it would require dropping the top and it'll never be the same again.

So while I send them back to come back with better options including buying it back, I thought I'd see if there's a way to salvage this snafu.

The rear tint is still bad too, but they refunded the tint amount so I can take it to a reputable shop to fix.

New car that cost a person money to have this happen is BS. I would say fix it to my satisfaction. If they screw anything else up while fixing it they can fix that too. Be nice to a point until you start getting jerked around. Small claims might have to come into play.

@darkpuppet ..... that's beyond bad, that's incompetent. If the dealer won't help - which I think they will if you are firm then call Ford Canada. Have your VIN handy and a picture of that incompetent mess. If your dealer says they can't fix it there are plenty of dealers in and around TO who can. I have a 2024 GT Premium convertible too, such a disappointing thing to happen.

Well, I have good news..

Took a little bit of back and forth, but the dealership sorted it out without dropping the top.

Work took maybe 2 hours.

They lent me a Mach e as well - hella fast (but too quiet ;p)

Now I just need to get the tint redone.

Honestly, every shop I've talked to uses pre-cut these days.. no idea why the dealership went with this guy..
