Hey everybody,
I live in Hollywood, in Broward County FL and was looking for mechanic recommendations for regular maintenance. I'm luckily spoiled for choice when I get around to boosting her (Mak Performance, Palm Beach Dyno, Lethal Performance, etc) but I'm looking for someone to handle any regular stuff like oil changes and such in my area. I'd rather give my business to a local mechanic than the dealership. And I know, everyone is going to say change your own damn oil but I'm getting old and really don't feel like crawling around down there any more. Any good mechanic suggestions are welcome. Thank you in advance! I'm also taking suggestions on who to go to for boosting, if anyone has recommendations there as well.

@gonzov17 ...... just my 2 cents, but I get my oil/filter changed at the dealer. Yes, it is a bit more expensive but it builds good will when you use their business. My friend owned a big GM dealership and he thought people who got most of their service done elsewhere then brought him their troubles were a$$holes and they definitely went to the back of the line. On the flip side I got all of my service done at a dealer for a number of cars I had purchased there and the hatch motor assembly went a couple of weeks after a warranty expired on one. An $800 repair. The service manager said to me - we talked about this at your last oil change didn't we. I said I don't think so. He said yeah I'm pretty sure we did. He ordered the parts and there was zero charge. One more......at another dealership that stores my summer tires over the winter called me into the shop this last spring (2023) when they were being mounted and showed damage to two of the expensive chrome rims. They asked did they come in this way in the Fall. I said they did not. The techs got the service manager involved, who said he (meaning me) wouldn't drive his vehicle like that and he would have told us, if they had arrived damaged. The dealership paid over $2,000.00 to purchase new rims - no charge to me. IMO, in this life, what goes around comes around. Most dealers make the most profit on financing, then on warranties and add-ons, next comes service. They don't actually make much on the sales unless they are thieves. If you leave nothing on the table for them why should they leave anything for you. A famous salesman once said If everyone gets up from the table and thinks they had a good meal - that was a good deal. Respectfully, Geez you have a friggin' DH ..... why nickel and dime the dealer? You may need him one day and what you saved on some small service items could really bite you. Just sayin'

I bought my Mustang out of state and I use a good small private shop in Jupiter (Abaco Automotive) for oil changes and such and so far I haven’t needed any other service on it but when the time does come I’ll be searching for a half way decent dealer somewhere from Jupiter north because all the dealers south of here seem to get really bad service reviews from their customers.
