While trying to install the FORM side marker lights at the back, I encountered an issue. For the life of me, I can not get the 7mm screws that hold the top of the fascia to the quarter panel to back out. This is on both sides. Anybody have this issue? Am I missing something here?

I just installed mine today and backing out those screws were a little troublesome but for me it was getting the ratchet positioned correctly between the fender well. It was a tight squeeze and took some time backing them out.

The problem I had was putting the bolt back in and getting the bumper aligned. I did what I could but now there are gaps on both sides where the screws are located.

In hindsight I should have taken off the back wheels. It definitely would have made things easier.

Is this the end result? Does this mean you have to accept this bad panel alignment like this after the install? Oh my, I will not touch any screws from the bumpers after seeing this.

Trick on the angle is using a 1/4 ratchet and a long 7mm and extension to get almost outside the fender well. Taking the wheels off will def help too.

After seeing the alignment issue after, I am not sure I want to bother.

If I would have known that I would create that gap, I wouldn’t have worried about the side markers because it’s driving me nuts. The hole on the bumper tab isn’t exact and there’s some play in it so I’ll have to readjust the bolt to get the bumper more flush.

The plastic scew nuts, if over tighten at the factory will need new ones. It will never get tight again. I haven't taken off a rear cover on these yet. If it's incorporated at the the end of the bumper stay, might need a new one. Another option is get a bigger threaded screw so you can actually tighten it.

Looks like is part of the side bracket, which isn't cheap and you would have to pop the cover off to replace it. If you try a slightly bigger screw go easy, use some lithium grease. Otherwise you will brake the side bracket. Unfortunately plastic covers are meant go on once, we replace the side brackets every time. Nothing is easy anymore.

I was looking at these lights yesterday on the suppliers website. Looked easy peasy. I'm passing on this mod after reading this thread. Don't need the hassle or stress.

I'm guessing, if you take the inner splash shields off which involves taking the wheels off! You might be able to do it?

Shields and wheels are not the issue. Yes, it is an odd angle, but easily done. My issue, maybe my issue only, is the screw will not back out of the bracket. It just spins in either direction.

Do the top (white) clips need to be taken off or turned in any way? @Form Lighting

Yeah, the reason you can't get it back out is because they were over tightened. Happens a lot with the plastic screw nuts. If you can get something between the screw and where it is threaded in and put pressure between the 2 you can get it to back out.

I did this mod with no issues. The screw came out easily… but it goes into a white retaining piece that might spin. Hold it with a needle nose and you should be good.

I pulled the bumper out all the way - didn’t mean to, but it separated all the way to the back. That made access to the stock side marker very easy. You just need a long screwdriver to help push the tab out.

The new side markers just snap in.

When pushing the bumper back into place, I started at the back and worked my way toward the wheel well and it went back in easily.

Important: the very front of the bumper, by the tire, has a tab that goes in between two other pieces. If you put it under the two pieces, it may cause that gap. Then screw back in the 7mm screw, holding the white insert with a needle nose.

I would not do this with the tire on. Worth the time to remove it.

A bad pic, but at night the entire side marker lit up looks great!

Best pic I can get to show the bumper back in place after the install:

The clip does not spin. I believe it is as stated, because the line over tightened it at FRAP.

It's a shitty set up, all new cars are like that. Same goes for the under body shield when you change your oil. Don't over tighten them to many times, those will eventually spin as well.
