Went to polish the exhaust tips (AVE) , stuck my hand by them with a Microfiber cloth and reached to wrap the cloth around. When the back of my pinky finger touched the tip of the one next to the one I wanted to wipe , instantly sliced the back of my finger wide open. When they polished/ground the back edge , they literally made it like a razor blade.

I was Bleeding all over the parking lot at the local car wash , had to walk over to a gas station with microfiber rag wrapped around my finger , just to buy band aids so I could get back in the car without staining it with blood.

Hopefully someone's pet or kid don't bump into them. WTF. Super ridiculous.

Anyone else get the "razor blade special" exhaust tips ?

Handy (yes! That's a BAD pun) feature if you don't have a cyanide capsule and need to prevent your capture by enemy secret agents!

@POHLHAMMER --thanks for the info! Was just thinking yesterday I need to quit slacking and get on my tips with some polish. Gotta admit I never thought they'd be dangerous. Sheesh!

The unfinished tips are the main reason I didn't get AVE. Glad I didn't. The standard exhaust is plenty loud.

I've cut the crap out of one of my fingers as well, those suckers are pretty sharp at the right angle.

Good to know. I've done that before on another car; I had AWE on my C63 however they were like nicely housed exhaust tips in an insert.

Wow! I thought it was just me. Yes, I cut my finger on a 2019 AE tip. I brought a 2024 and thought that ford would have fixed it. Nope! Still razor blades. So dangerous.

SO GLAD TO SEE FORD JUMP INTO THIS DISCUSSION

Is it that hard to have them square off the steel during production ? It would take an extra min...

Subject: Mustang Exhaust Tip Syndrome (METS)

Have you, a family member, friend, or (well anyone for that matter---even casual passersby) suffered a physically and mentally debilitating extremity injury due to the dangerously and improperly designed exhaust tips of a 2024 Mustang active exhaust system?

YOU may be entitled to compensation! For, but not limited to, temporary or permanent physical damage, treatment including ER, physical therapy, mental distress (e.g. PTSD), counseling services, loss of income, or community standing, and the heart break of psoriasis.

Don’t delay! Call NOW to speak with one of our battalion of Olympic Class Runners who will chase down and catch that ambulance for you!

Our suggested resolution to Ford is a custom bent Akropovic all Ti replacement exhaust (with “safe touch” tips of course!) for our Mustangs!

For the record: I washed my GT yesterday and I made sure I had a double thickness of microfiber wash mitt between my hand and those stainless steel katanas Ford gave us! 🤣
