Also, did you do all the labor yourself? If not, how much did you pay for installation?

Edit: im seeing about 10k just for parts

No, I paid a dealer to do it because I want the warranty. Was $2800 CAD so ~14 hours labour.

Cats tend to become an issue, I would get headers on there, but if stage 1 and trying to play warranty game I get why people aren’t up to it.

I think the engine is safer with no warranty, stage 2 kit and off-road headers.

than less power stage 1 kit, stock headers
Ya i always go catless long tubes. I will prob stay stage 1 for like a yr then im sure ill want togo corn and pulley down and throttle body up lol

I paid 10.6K for my whipple stage 2 kit when they released, did the install myself, been perfect for 2 years now. Frankly the car is too fast. And I just put it around like an old man

My experience with Whipple Stage 1:

Purchased Whipple and installed at Ford Dealer. Not cheap but was done right (not many installer options in my area). Installed a little over a year ago.
Spent 5 min sending an email with receipt to Ford Performance Warranty. They responded within 30 minutes with updated warranty. Yes, warranty is somewhat limited.
Stage 1 far from "tame", will spin tires in almost any gear (3.15 diff ratio). Specialty drag tires on dry surface would do much better, but my car is daily driver. Hard to see how more power would be useful day-to-day.
Drivability and gas mileage nearly unaffected. Car has mild personality, until you don't want it to - then monster. Went from ~27 to ~25 mpg on highway drives.

YMMV of course. Especially if you want a dedicated drag car, which would be cool!

Q6543, did you do the oil pump gears? I have seen a lot of debates and comments and I am going to be putting on the stage 2 kit with Kooks catless header’s and driven occasionally and very little drag or roll, I just wanted to hear from someone with over a year experience? Thanks

No, I did not do OPGs, never even gave a thought to it. I was trying to find the video but can’t, there was a YouTube video of someone actually breaking their OPGS, and when I tell you he was holding it on/off the limiter for minutes, it may have took 3 or 4 full minutes on the limiter before they finally let go and the engine blew.

once I realized that it take a blatantly negligent level of abuse I never thought twice bothering with them.

my 2 cents is that money is better spent saving for an aluminator engine, if you’re really that worried

What can be added to the Ford Performance Whipple that won’t void the Ford/Whipple warranty?

Can I add headers? Exhaust?

Not much. Nope on the header. Or exhaust. Talk with your dealer he may let a few small things slide. Like cai or exhaust cat back.
