I used to live near Mount Vernon, which had some really nice neighborhoods and because of the proximity to the estate - no high density housing.

I love the drive around MCB Quantico. I go all the way around; through Garrisonville, towards Aden, and then Joplin road back around to Hwy 1. You're right, that drive is absolutely fantastic.

I recently drove the Skyline Drive scenic route:

Started here: 38.906188368226545, -78.19969178381581

Ended here: 38.660970722446386, -78.32074699475814

Absolutely amazing drive. I left my house around 0500hrs and got to the start point around 0630ish. Anything before 0800hrs and you don't have to pay to enter the park since (there isn't a ranger on duty to collect your money).

Gainesville/ Haymarket area. Lime Kiln Rd, Harmony Church Rd and Snickersville Rd are good places for a nice twisty ride.

Does anyone recommend drag strips for watching/weekend racing? I’m about two hours from Maryland International and about an hour from Virginia Motorsports park.

Are there any others in the NoVA area?

Try Summerduck, it's a 1/8 mile track but they have some good test & tune days. You will see a lot of crazy stuff running.

I don’t know if they still rung (Friday) Midnight Madness but they used to. You can do as many time trials as you like and if you’re so inclined you can do brackets. I used to take one of my bikes up there on Fridays and it’s a hoot. MIR is generally a ‘conservative’ track. if you do 12’s there, you’ll do 12’s pretty easy most other places IME.
