Interestingly I noticed my coolant reservoir is also below the minimum line and has a couple mild "residue lines". 10K miles. I shoulda paid more attention when it was new so I can compare.
This sounds pretty normal at this point. I discovered mine was also low a couple of months back and just added a little bit of distilled water and it has since dropped a tiny bit it is still above the low mark.

Color residue is one thing. Since the expansion tank is part of the pressurized system, the vacuum breaker feature of the radiator cap could be releasing a pinch of steam each time making it low.

Keeping vaccum in the coolant system when cold isn't good for hoses and the pump seal.

Earlier versions of the factory turbochargerd engine included electric coolant pumps to cool down the turbo after shutdown. Not sure if ford did some sort of trick to get natural coolant circulation to the turbo after shutdown.

I broe my rule on buying a "new" car. both new chassis and engine. Although not that new chassis.

Anybody verify the new 2.3 is a timing chain or not?

It is all chain. Only the 2.7 V6, and a couple of the 3 cylinders have oil belts. I suspect that'll change very soon.

Seems like other brands of DGI engines are getting dual injectors too due in part to the clogged up valves routine.
