Hi - for the past couple of days, starting up the car and my gauges and colours were reset to default…

Changed back to my preferences and the next day they defaulted again.

Nothing else was weird - favourites button was still correct and other settings seemed in order.

The only thing I have done recently is updated my iPhone to IOS26 In the same timeframe - but surely Apple Car Play wouldn’t interfere with the car’s separate preferences? Or would it?

Anyone else experienced similar symptoms?

I have automatic updates off - so no OTA updates for me…

Sometimes the preferences revert to default for not fully known, but suspected module reset condition. There are numerous threads on here complaining about it. What's frustrating about it is that it can happen with an OTA update, or just randomly.

Try turning on OTA updates. Sometimes it's what's needed to keep things default. Meaning computers/operating systems.

If there is any issue with the system that is losing settings, and an OTA update is able to fix it, then having updates off of course won't help.

After an over the air update, it does sometimes switch your settings back to factory.

Mine has done it twice, many months ago. Hasn't happened since.
(I bet they've reset now that I've written that)

This exact thing was happening with my 2024 Mustang, it had other issues that accompanied the reset, are you experiencing any other problems?

Was fine for a few days, but it did it again today… was fine when I drove to the gym. Got in an hour later and my gauges and colours were reset.
I turned on OTA updates a week ago - so have to assume I’m on the latest software version…

Any ideas?

I wouldn't assume anything!

OTA can take a while to do stuff.

Go into your Ford account on a PC (not the app) and you will be able to see your vehicle where it will give you the software version for Sync4

FYI, sync 4 version only tells you just that... not about any other updates... not sure that is of much help. OTA updates don't just happen because you turn them on... it could take months...
