Looks good considering it's DIY. I would be too picky to do it myself.

Off work for a couple weeks while the wife still has to work - so had some extra time.
Since my daughter got me some new air filters for Christmas (thinkautotech, thanks, I hate the oil type filters), thought I would show them off.
Custom project time...

Used clear silicone, in the one pic the left looks sus, but in person it looks nice and neat. Really took my time with this.

Your induction tubes aren’t smooth and full of rough ridges on the tube causing turbulence air, install steeda tube which is smooth straight forward non-turbulent tube from Steeda like mine!

Get rid of of your rough turbulent tube and exchange it with steeda tube which has a smooth inside for better induction like mine!

Maybe. Steeda would be my choice though. Still pondering a supercharger.
Hoping to do half shafts as a next upgrade.

Understood, if supercharger is planned then do it first! I wasn’t going to supercharge mine so I took the steeda approach! Have fun with you car whatever you do!

I like your daughter's choice of gift! That really looks good to me. I have been looking into making these but using a rubber seal versus clear silicone. The shape was throwing me off but it looks like the windows are pretty flat.

@msquad ...... out of interest I emailed Rousch Racing to see if they would sell their see through air box covers without the air filters thinking that would cost a lot less than the with the filters. They said no, you have to buy the covers and filters. IMO that is not a savvy marketing move.

Nice, I was thinking about doing this except with maybe a mustang (running horse) or coyote shaped cutout in each. Or maybe 5.0 or 307 cut out. IDK.

Try contacting KohR Motorsports, they have a strong relationship with Roush Performance/Motorsports and may be able to do something.
https://kohrmotorsports.com/about/#...s was established in,Ford Motor Company (SVT).

Doing this on a GT allows you to see how dirty the intake side of the filter is. Doing this on an Eco-Boost would only show you the outlet side which isn't telltale.

One would almost have to assume the intake boxes are, at least in part, made from recycled plastic. So making them clear would be somewhat more costly to make, but imagine the whole intake side out of clear plastic including the tubes? Heck, you could even color tinge them the same as the body color! If we're dreaming, let's dream big!

Well - (no offense) the glue job is way to messy for me wouldn't show that on a $60K car - 👎

Being an OCD type person, I don't think it looks too great in pictures, but when you see it in person, looks a lot better. I would have thrown the covers away and bought new ones if it looked poor in person. But, who cares what others thing, right, my money, my car, ha.
