Hello All,
I would like to share my recent experience with my transmission. One day, after I jumped onto the highway and tried to shift to 6th gear from 5th (around 3000rpm or less). After putting the shifter to 6th gear and releasing the clutch, I can feel the car jerks a bit, which is strange, and the gear selector on my cluster changed to "N" from "6". I tried to apply gas slightly and car did accelerate. I downshifted and upshifted again, same thing happened. I kept in 5th gear for a bit and upshift again, the issue went away.
I cannot find a pattern of this issue. The only indication of this issue is whenever the car jerks when I shift to 6th gear, it will show "N" on my cluster. It has been three days now, almost every time I took it out for a drive, the problem will happen at least one time. Does anyone have similar experience? Is this issue an indication of transmission problems? Or should I just shift to 6th gear at higher rpm? Thanks in advance!
