Mach 1 to DH

Currently have a 22 Mach 1 HP, going to look at a used 24 DH HP 6 speed tomorrow with 900 miles. Anyone make this switch? Wheel lips not installed but are in the trunk along with the car cover and owners kit. I don't see the gurney flap so will be asking about it.

Anything I need to be look for or looking out for?

Never had an S550 Mach 1 but we’ve had a 22 GT convertible and a 22 GT500 and now a DH.

I call the S650 an S550.2. It is not a complete new generation. What they did was fix everything on the S550 chassis and make a better car. You will understand when you drive the DH. Probably the best stock Mustang I have ever owned ( I didn’t say fastest).

FYI I actually do own a Mach 1

I did! Both new for under msrp
21 non-hp Mach 1 premium auto for 3.5 years.
24 non-hp DH prem Tremec
I’m very happy .
Really love the manual and interior technology.
Also the chassis on the DH in noticeably better

i used to have a 2022 Mach 1 HP, but now have my 2024 Dark Horse HP. both had the 10-speed, and both were 700A. the updated interior is pretty nice, but otherwise it's identical to the Mach 1. so much so, in fact, that the 2024 MY Dark Horse is still internally referenced by Ford as a Mach 1.

i personally really love tech, so the upgrade from the 8" to the 13.2" was massive, and no more "AA Wireless" dongle needed for wireless Android Auto is super nice. i do kinda miss the design of the S550 digital dash, but the S650's has definitely grown on me. just be aware that Ford has cheapened the IPC module and made some questionable changes like making the speed readout update every half second or so instead of instantly, and this becomes especially obvious if you switch to the track layout with the measurements tab up. the actually live engine speed and measurements begin to lag and delay each other.

is that what does it i swear mine updates every 2 seconds when im full throttle but i always have my iat and stuff up as im boosted

have to try swapping away from those to see if speedo updates faster

there are some nice updates as far as interior and tech toys, chances are you will like the refresh but the basic underpinnings of the car are nearly identical. A tad more HP but some of that is eaten away by IIRC a heavier curb weight

remember Ford had to license the Bullitt name, when the license ran out they wanted to keep making the higher performance models (and add an automatic that the Bullitt cars never had) do they brought the MACH 1 nameplate out of retirement to put on what used to be the Bullitt option, and for some strange reason, Ford thought the MACH 1 name was not bringing in the sales it should have so they created a "new" performance option by sticking Dark Horse badges on what was the MACH 1 cars.

The dashboard may take some getting used to

I strongly feel the DH chassis is a huge upgrade.
It absorbs bumps way quiter and firm. Corners with much more confidence when pushed.
Rear end is way more planted.
And I stiffened up my Mach with Steeda parts

If the fender flare and gourney flap are not on the car make sure the lower air deflectors are there behind the front wheels.

I installed the gurney flap and fender flares yesterday. The air deflectors I have also but didn't know where they were supposed to go.

Awesome, thanks so much!
They help get the air out from under the car effectively creating a vacuum under the car to help it stick to the ground better. Congrats on the new ride. It is an absolute blast to drive.
