I’ve been scouring the Internet for a carbon fiber or matte black fuel door cover for my dark horse. All I can find is some cheap Amazon variant that sticks on with a couple of body tape pieces. I decided to go ahead and try wrapping my fuel door (3M 2080 vinyl) until a genuine carbon fiber part comes out to actually replace the fuel door.

I received a lot of great feedback from family and friends, what say you my new friends? I’m brand new to the forum so be gentle on me lol (if you feel the need); otherwise I’m a full grown man and USMC veteran…. So bring it on 🤣

Great to be here, look forward to hearing from you!

First of all, Thank you for your service!

If opinions are what you really want, I'd say the fuel door should stay painted and not CF.

Only thing I would do is upgrade wheels & tires.

Hey, appreciate your feedback! I have received so many different opinions on this “mod”, it is really turning out to be quite a discussion point! By the way, love the color of your car! I wanted one like that so bad. On the tires, I think I’ll keep what I have for now I just had to replace one tire that had a well placed nail that could not be repaired on the passenger side inner sidewall! There were only 9 of the Pirelli P-Zero 4s that could be found nationwide. The big problem I have is I only have 1500 miles on this bad boy just didn’t want to pay for a full tire replacement yet. I opted to add a warranty to the remaining three tires for a fraction of the cost at discount tire! Shout out to them they did a great job, but I watched them the entire time lol . Once I do replace them, it’ll be Michelin Pilot Sport 4s!

I think it fits aesthetically well on your MDH Storm Trooper edition.
I think that would go well on black as well, I’d be less confident in saying that on other colors without actually trying it.

Yes, completely understand this comment! I really struggled with it, but then I looked at my Black PPF roof and said what the heck! The problem with these stupid dark horses and S650 in general is they have several different colors, sheens (matte/satin/gloss) and simulated textures on Ford’s variation of black on these vehicles!

Yes, thank you so much for your service! It's your car, your money, your choice. I'm big on color match, so I'd be body color. Beautiful car though!!!
Yes, I am the same way. I usually make sure to match everything! The problem is there aren’t many Oxford white matching accessories out yet and I darn sure don’t wanna take it to a paint shop.

Personally, I'd stay with body color. Semper Fi

Yes, very little colormatch options. I would love body match emblems!

I sort of like the looks of an all white Mustang. Mine's an Eco-Boost without any body-side accouterments, so I guess it is a plain-Jane of Mustangs. I thought about adding some color (red in my case) like I did to my 2019 Ranger (tow hooks, lettering in the tail gate indents and grill indents). Then I thought, what if I had the front and rear pony painted red? Maybe not!

Yeah, the nice thing about my vinyl wrap is I can literally pull it off if I feel like I need to! Not sure I’d want to paint it lol

That too has been a thought of mine. How about reflective silver or gold? Bright chartreuse perhaps? Or perhaps crimson? The color varieties are endless!
