I guess it's nice not to worry about money
Quit making payments, paying interest to other people, pay yourself some amount every month, and you'll, sooner than you think, not be making car payments. No, I don't worry about gasoline and other things. Toys are toys. There's a nice 2012 showroom new condition Honda Civic in the same garage as my Mustang. It is truly a lot of fun to drive and is not a bad cross country car if I so desire. Perspective man, perspective.

i'm not knocking anybody for tracking fuel economy. to each their own. but this is a dark horse topic. if i was worried about fuel consumption, would have went for the Ecoboost. but personally i wouldn't got for the Ecoboost 😉 i do agree that a sudden drop in fuel economy is a good indicator of a problem so best to pay a little attention.

I happened to look at the screen in my manual the other day and it said 13 point something. OK.
this makes good sense. i seem to recall you mentioning the words "give it the beans" several times😜 i haven't ever cleared my trip meter and it reads around 15.5 or 16 mpg. how... i have no idea. I'm maybe 30 minutes down a 60mph from town though so maybe that helps... whatever 👍

You are accurate!

I suspect this is why my manual has to go to the feed station more frequently than my automatic. It’s just a crapload of fun! Probably also why my wife often finds a reason not to go out with me in the manual car. Oh well!

I consider it the cost of a hobby. I sold my bike, I don't play golf, and my wife won't let me have a girlfriend.
So I spend it on gas.
Now that, is perspective.

I'm getting about 21 on the Interstate, 16 mixed, and... uh... like 6-8 in town because I'm a maniac.
