Is this how the S650 dash should have been?

Is this the dash/instrument cluster that the S650 should have received?

The top screen tends to resemble a traditional binnacle hump, albeit just one and not two.

That Lucid is twice the price of a Mustang.
It was more a question of styling.

And besides, you're comparing apples and oranges.
Electric versions of their ICE equivalent are much more expensive anyway.

I like the current screen setup in the S650 but I totally agree this low profile curvy screen would have looked much better at probably zero extra cost. Ford engineers and designers need to wake up. As much as I like the current S650 I don't think it looks as good as most of the prior iterations in regard to the sheet metal and the doghouse. Ford missed an opportunity to make the Mustang look cool imo. I still really like my car don't get me wrong.

🤣 There's no way Ford would place that dash inside a Mustang. Too much screen real estate. The S550 interior is perfect.

I'm definitely old school, having started with a mechanical oil pressure gauge, among others on the dash but the new screens, much like the rest of the s650 really have to be seen in person. They look completely different than any of the pics I have seen and much better IMHO.
I'm still waiting on my car so I may be eating crow when I have to live with it, but I suspect not.
At least that's my hope!

Too much screen in the Lucid for my taste. I too was worried about the s650 screen from looking at the pictures. I was concerned that it would stick up too high over the dashboard line. Upon seeing and driving the car I actually like it. The screen looks much better in person than in the pictures. I'm not sure why, but it does. At least for me. I have the single screen.

I don’t mind the screens in my S650 but do wish I could’ve gotten a S550 manual instead but I’m happy overall so far with the S650

My stang was a surprise b-day present. I never saw it before that. I think it is great and well designed. JMO

I don't hate the screens, but don't love them either. But it would have been nice if Ford had kept the previous dash setup (more integrated instead of something slapped on top of the dash) and had the screens more integrated (see the latest Chevrolet Corvette (C8) dash).
