Thanks for the advice! I was looking at exhaust systems and some were 2-3k… sticker shock for sure. And yes I have the 6 speed!
Then I'd definitely get the short stroke street shifter. It's under $200 and worth every penny. A bunch of companies, including Ford, have them. I like Steeda because of the aluminum shifter balls. I got the short shift for the Tremec, and an aluminum shifter ball for my father in-law. A lot of people changed their exhaust and hate the results after all the thousands spent. H-Pipe will give the muscle car sound, and the X-pipe will be raspy. Mufflers come in Touring, Sport, and extreme. Extreme are very raspy and snap crackle and pop. All depends what you like.

Start with the H-pipe, if you want louder, start saving 😁.

Second the steeda short throw shifter. Greatly improves the driving experience

Welcome, beautiful ride

Just be aware that whatever exhaust you choose could be loud during the cold start, and if you don't have an adjustable valve exhaust you won't be able to quite it. This is why I only recommend an H-Pipe.

Yeah… I’ve been thinking about that. I just moved into a new neighborhood and I don’t want to become public enemy #1 immediately.

Where I grew up most Mustang owners are pure IDIOTS. You could say the Mustang has a bad reputation there. Mostly Thugs have them, and they are obnoxious. Their cars are junk. Only nice guy I knew was back in the 80s. He had an original Fast Back like the Bullitt. Yellow and all original. Can't remember the year. Parked outside and no one touched it. Try that today. It'd be gone real quick. Thankfully where I live know the car is respectable, but you still have to watch where you venture. I don't worry so much because I know mine can be at their junk all day long. Or at least until their engine seizes up.
