New to the forum! If you have questions or need tech support message me or email me directly at [email protected]! I have been with Steeda for almost 6 years. More than happy to help!
Well great because I've already invested in a bunch of Steeda stuff from CJ Pony Parts.

I'm trying to find some information on a clutch housing scatter shield... Like a Lakewood Safety Bellhousing, or even a steel plate that can enclose or cover the stock bellhousing, like what you would see for an automatic flex plate shield or blanket.

I don't want to loose any limbs, and it won't pass tech without it... used to drag race a stick before in the 70s, 80s.

I polled our two resident racers here, 1 drag racer, the other road course. The first thing to do is to talk to the tech staff of the sanctioning body you are racing in. They will be able to provide you with the exact safety equipment you need for your class. Our 2015 # 20 Mustang GT runs a MT-82. We had a clutch failure on that car, the bellhousing cracked and retained its structural integrity. Technology has come a long way. We replaced it with a Calimer Transmissions built MT-82. That leads me to the second part of this message. Reach out to Calimer Transmissions directly. They are the MT-82 gurus and will be able to provide you detailed information on what to do for safety when racing an MT-82. Thier number is (717) 331-2974. Here is the link to their website: Calimer Transmissions

Hope this helps!

Awesome! Thanks!

Rules have changed a bit since I was out in the sport but the track I'll be racing at is NHRA sanctioned, Toronto Motorsports Park, Cayuga.

This will be a next year thing anyways... just working to get my stuff together and work on getting the car to stop wheel hoping first, get the safety equipment installed (like the bellhousing and driveshaft safety loop) and work on the rest for durability.

Been through this before many moons ago so I know what's expected for a street/strip car going mid 12s. Anything higher than that ET requires a roll bar that I'm not putting in.

In this time of supporting the U.S.A. - I wanted to share a behind-the-scenes look of who Steeda is!

After a lifetime of Subarus and Hondas I’ve finally taken the plunge and bought a Mustang in my 40s. What a difference! I bought the cheapest GT I could find. Don’t really want to do anything crazy, maybe an exhaust, wheels, and tint.

Anyways, glad to be here!!!

Nice. Try an H-Pipe by Steeda. They're about $295. A few even cheaper. If you have a 6 speed Steeda also makes a short throw shifter and aluminum shifter balls in natural, black, blue or red. Lots of people like the sound of the standard Ford exhaust. Axle backs are one grand+, and get unneeded Police attention. If you're a spirited driver GT350 half shafts are a good insurance policy against failure, and are slightly over $400 a pair. Serious high performance are around 2 grand +/-. If not super charging you won't need the latter.

Thanks for the advice! I was looking at exhaust systems and some were 2-3k… sticker shock for sure. And yes I have the 6 speed!

Then I'd definitely get the short stroke street shifter. It's under $200 and worth every penny. A bunch of companies, including Ford, have them. I like Steeda because of the aluminum shifter balls. I got the short shift for the Tremec, and an aluminum shifter ball for my father in-law. A lot of people changed their exhaust and hate the results after all the thousands spent. H-Pipe will give the muscle car sound, and the X-pipe will be raspy. Mufflers come in Touring, Sport, and extreme. Extreme are very raspy and snap crackle and pop. All depends what you like.
