30 seconds into this video it shows the inside of a stock S650 GT V8 resonator. I didn’t realize it’s basically 2 straight pipes without an equalizing crossover like H or X pipe. The screen capture shows one side. Makes me wonder why Ford wouldn’t include at least an internal H. Maybe manufacturing cost or EPA noise regulations?

Really depends on ‘where’ the “crossover” is placed. H belongs as far back (within reason of the center section) as possible and x belongs as far forward as possible. H in the rear will help the transition for around the axle. X up front to help scavenging ‘Crossover’ in the middle more sound tuning than performance.​

I just wonder why Ford didn’t engineer that in, e.g. cost/time vs. regulation. Also, why not either put in H or X downstream of the resonator or replace with a resonated crossover. I love the sound of my exhaust (Roush axle back) and don’t want any additional potentially obnoxious noise.

The dyno video that Steeda did disagrees with this guy, The HP/TQ numbers for an H-pipe, X-pipe and the stock resonator were pretty much the same.

There’s an updated Steeda video where they found the H pipe makes 10 ft lbs more torque at 2800 rpm. Very tempting. Hard to say how it would improve my setup, not active exhaust, but have Roush axle back. Here’s a screen capture.
