I have the same configuration. I'm also not making any changes. It's perfect from the factory. I'm enjoying the world class machine that the Ford engineers designed for us. No need or desire for modifications which leaves money for other things! 😎

I wash mine. Is that modding it?

I doubt we'll mod ours since it's my wife's car and she's not into cars much. Then again, I never figured she'd want a Mustang, especially with a V8, so maybe I've brought her over to the dark side. :)

Nothing wrong with keeping a Mustang stock, but I do enjoy "making it my own" with some mods. I do agree that the horsepower of a GT is sufficient for my needs on the street, so I didn't make any power mods on my non performance pack S550 GT. However, it has suspension mods because I wanted better handling and a little lower stance. Wider aftermarket wheels with proper offset are a great upgrade for both performance and looks. Cosmetic items like spoilers and splitters are fun mods that can be reversed pretty easily before sale if desired. Also, I needed to make my non active exhaust louder. :)

If I buy an S650 [edit: I might have ordered one, lol.] I don't want to do as much. Been there, done that, lol. I'll get the performance pack and active exhaust to minimize the need for suspension and exhaust mods. Might still need to do a stop the hop kit, though. I will definitely get aftermarket wheels again.

My decision may not be a popular choice with most, but I have decided to keep my new 2025 Mustang GT Manual stock.
Believe me, on my other Mustang’s that I have owned, I have spent plenty of money on them and took them to my local racetrack.
Did the upgrades work, yes and no, never to what I thought it would or should have, and the truth is I drove 99% of the time on the streets.
Have I thought about putting a charger on it, sure I have, but the truth for me is, I can't even use the 486HP it has now, the way it runs stock gives me a huge smile on my face every time I drive it, which is after all is all I could ask for from my Mustang.

Here are my reasons why.
  • The 2025 Mustang GT is designed to be a thrilling car right off the showroom floor.
  • My Mustang will most likely never run on a racetrack; I run my Mustang on the back roads of Tennessee and Alabama.
  • Ford has spent Millions of Dollars on the engineering of the car to make it run correctly.
  • It has 486hp engine with Predictable/reliable performance, the engine runs great!
  • My manual 6 speed shift with no issues,
  • The stock adjustable valve exhaust system already sounds perfect to me.
  • I will maintain my factory warranty.
  • The Mustang will hold its value better than a modified car.
  • I really like the stock wheels and tires that came with the Mustang. [Nite Package]
  • I like the stock height and ground clearance of the Mustang.
  • The stock suspension is perfect for the type of driving I do.
Have I changed anything on the Mustang?
Yes - LOL, I installed a Ford Racing shifter knob, but I don’t see doing anything else to it.

The Ford Motor Company has built many things, but the Mustang must be the biggest commercial achievement they have ever done.

Ford Co - Thanks for the great little car!

Same options except Dark Matter Grey and ragtop. Like the shifter, maybe I will add that as well. Where did you purchase the shifter from?

It’s a Ford product, you can buy it from Ford Performance website or go to one of the other Mustang part websites. You can save a few bucks going to a Mustang website stores.

Ya - I’ll be doing the same, what I like to do is use only part/accessories from Ford.
When I do this, in my mind, I’m keeping it stock - LOL

How was it taking the original shifter knob off? Any tips? Been thinking about changing mine out as well. Looks great !!!!
It just unthreads no locking nut , the new one is the same friction thread, (gets tighter as you thread it on)
