Ive had my Mustang for 7 months now and Ive never had an issue with it. Just one time it alerted me because someone brake hard in front of me but thats the only time in 7 months.

I don't think AEB can be turned off, it couldn't on the S550 over here never mind the S650

Wonder if this junk is not installed on the ‘24 Dark Horse? I haven’t noticed it.

Seems like it’d be pretty inconvenient on the track, especially if you did a key cycle and had to go searching through the corn-maze inspired menus to turn it off.

Truly I despise every little bit of this forced nanny crap!

My pre-collision stuff rarely goes off. It is much less sensitive than my wife's Lincoln. The only time I've ever felt the auto braking was during the Mustang Unleashed program when they had us using the "balloon car" to get a feel for the auto braking. If your car is braking suddenly with nothing in front of you then something is wrong in the programming.

Yesterday my pre collision took the braking over for the first time and I'm happy it did.

Car in front of me slammed the brakes from 30mph to 0 instantly on an empty road, just to let a car get on the road who was waiting on a small side road.

I applied the brakes but I felt that some heavier brakes were applied than what I pressed. I also saw some res screen on the display but hadn't much time to see what that actually was.

I’m sure there have been improvements since my ’17 Rap was new, but from day one the pre-collision assist as it was called then would throw the Christmas tree of lights, beeping like R2D2 and preload the brake pedal if:

1) car turning right in front of the vehicle at about 200 yards or less
2) you are accelerating OR coasting; in other words, you are not braking
3) you are going at least 25mph

It doesn’t matter that I know I’m not going to hit them, the truck thinks I might so as soon as I touch the pedal, it’s max braking. Most of the time I get this when I’m coasting because the car in front is slowing / turning right.

For whatever reason, left turns don’t bother the truck at all.

I’ve not had this on the Mustang yet, but I will say that pre-collision system on the Rap probably kept me from getting collected on I495 outside of DC once. A car in the passing lane changed lanes right, got in front of me and dropped anchor. As soon as they came right, I lane changed right to the “greener pasture lane” with no traffic in front. ANOTHER nit wit does exactly the opposite, comes from the far right lane and ... drops anchor in front of me. This one set of the alarms, etc.

The chaos caused an almost complete stop on the interstate but no collisions. One to my original left was trying to make an exit on the right and I think they did. No idea why the guy from my right cut over and dropped anchor.
