Hello Everyone,

I am new to this forum and just purchased this 2025 Ecoboost. Hearing that the intercoolers are seriously inadequate for this car and are one of the first trhings that should be considered to be upgraded, I am looking at doing so. I have tried finding what is out there and this is what I have come up with. As for what will go into the factory location without cutting up the car or plastics - Mishimoto. If you don't mind cutting up plastics or removing stuff from the front end - CVFAB. I did talk to Eurocompulsion and they are looking into having something available soon (within possibly 30 to 45 days from my last conversation with them).

My intention is to find out if anyone has any experience with the Mishimoto unit in the factory location? Are they efficient enough for the money spent? Are there other companies I am missing for the 2024+ Mustang Ecoboost that are making intercoolers? I know chances are I will be voiding or may have issues with warranty, so that is why I am looking into something that will mount in a factory location without cutting things apart or removing parts. If the car has to go in for service work, I know the dealer I go to well enough that they won't really check and if they happen to see something, they won't address it unless they really have to.

Thank you,

"...the intercoolers are seriously inadequate..." Perhaps, but that depends on how you drive it, and what the ambient is. Turbocharged or not, heat gets to every engine, and causes the same issue; heat soak.

I live in Roswell, NM and it gets hot here. Supposed to be 102°F today! Heat does affect the performance. If you want to see how much it does, come down here, do a test drive in a GT, and compare the numbers when it's 85°F.

I'm running the Mishimoto intercooler... got the charge pipes as well. I believe that the two you listed are the only ones currently available. I would not hold my breath for eurocompulsion... they said they were working on one two years ago when I contacted them.

How is the units efficiency? Was it worth the expense? The intercooler and charge pipe set up is 1300+ . I am not saying it is extreme, however it quite the layout of money for a unit and piping that is truly unknown to me. That is why I am asking. Also, are you running a tune at this time?

I don't know if I can speak for the efficiency (that would take some complex instruments)... it does seem to keep the AITs cooler. Running the FP tune. Price is pretty high, but there isn't really any other choice... unless you want to start cutting things up to fit the race intercooler.

Remember, adding an intercooler and pipes adds cubic volume after the turbo. This fact does increase lag time. When I did the gambit to my 2019 Ranger, there was indeed lag added, and it was noticeable. Did it help? In a word, yes. But then again, I had other pieces (exhaust, CAI, turbo) added as well.

Check out CVFab. I have their huge intercooler and catted downpipe on my Maverick 2.0 Ecoboost. The Mav version is bigger and cheaper than Mishimoto from Ford Performance. Definitely well worth the upgrade. Also check out EMS for a tune.
