You would have to unplug more than one speaker.
What should an unplugged speaker play?
Do you still believe it's not there?

Fords own statement to using it, frequency measurements, multiple users whose subwoofers playing normal only after setting ESE to off in Forscan should be proof enough.
And above linked video with the isolated ESE sound shows exactly what is happening.
These sounds play in various frequencies, so it cannot only be the sub playing it as it only plays low frequencies.

Means exactly what?
On mine as well as on many others it was on, I measured and heard it, deactivated it and it was gone.

Post 38 indicated gt as built turned off, same software used across the board indicates toggles can be tiggled but will result in no jiggle for the wiggle.

you said it yourself, you played with the sub but it can’t just be the sub?

With stereo off and engine on I got a 46 Hz buzz which didn't change when I revved slowly, so that was artificial.
The other speakers and frequency ranges I didn't check nor cared because the sub being messed up was what could be heard also with my ears.
ESE was ON, then set it off, problems gone.

I think that might have been the 35th time I described it and I'm not the only one.
So whatever somebody elses As-Built data is set to is not my business.

I actually don't even know why you are commenting at all when you are not having any issue with however that parameter is set in your car and you don't engage in better stereo than the stock B&O amp.

If you’re claiming ford is making up noise in order to glamorize the gt it becomes potentially problematic. I didn’t purchase a recording.

a) It's not a "claim", it is proven. I explained it

b) Ford themselves "claim" it, in fact, they even think it is a selling argument so they put it in their official press release:

The latest B&O 7 sound system provides crisp audio through 12 speakers and a subwoofer, including the use of Ford’s Electronic Sound Enhancement technology to amplify engine sounds directly into the cabin.
I posted the link a couple of posts earlier, so maybe you missed it (or didn't read the whole text - I should have quoted the exact text passage):
https://media.ford.com/content/ford...hifts-its-style--performance-and-digital.html

If it's not turned on in your vehicle, nothing to complain.
If it's turned on and you cannot "hear" it and don't mind it might be there, nothing to complain.
If you have doubts, turn it off in Forscan and even if you should not hear a difference, be happy that now there will definitely be nothing anymore.

“Active Valve Exhaust that delivers adjustable engine sounds to suit the driving scenario” + “The latest B&O 7 sound system provides crisp audio through 12 speakers and a subwoofer, including the use of Ford’s Electronic Sound Enhancement technology to amplify engine sounds directly into the cabin. “ != faux

Are you slow or something?
IT IS PROVEN THAT SOUNDS ARE ADDED VIA THE SOUND SYSTEM!
SOUNDS THAT ARE ARTIFICIAL LIKE IN THE VIDEO!
Not real sound picked up by mics from the engine or the exhaust and played live through the speakers.

Edit: Sorry for the wording.

Noise canceling ear buds produce fake sounds?

Quick update:
I made frequency measurements and found a constant 46Hz buzz once I started the engine, independent from engine RPM.
That sucked the life out of my sub.
I then stumbled across a thread about subwoofer problems and in the meantime someone found out how to deactivate Electronic Sound Enhancment with Forscan.
In module ACM change whatever character you have in the third column of the following line to zero:
727-01-01 xxxx xxxx 0x--

Result: no more buzz and controlled sub instead.

The Ford website even advertises ESE specifically also for the V8s, totally strange.
Does this help the audio performance of the stock subwoofer any?

When I downloaded the as built file it showed ANC and ESE to be inactive from the factory. My car is a base GT with only automatic and 3.55 rear options.

Think my window sticker says it has ESE, too.
What does this mean, "downloaded the as built file?"

Physically it should as the sub only needs to play the music signal.
It will sound like when the engine is turned off.
That was where the difference was audible the most - engine off was great with the new sub, and once engine was turned on, most of the punch was gone.

I do not have Forscan and do not know how to use it. How difficult is it to obtain one and try this out, see it it is turned on? If it is turned on, I guess you can turn it off, go for a drive, and see how it sounds?

I know, for example, that hitting the throttle wide open in Drag Mode, for instance, the engine sound is almost disturbing, like other worldly. My 8 year old asked, "What was that? What happened?"

Now you make me wonder if it was all coming from the exhaust pipe, or there is some electronic blast coming into the cabin.
