Now that i have your attention.. i was wondering what your opinions are on it?

Coming from a 19GT - ive noticed the dark horse seems louder stock vs stock. The 19 was very muted and the resonator delete woke it up nicely... however the dark horse in stock form seems to be about as loud as the GT with the resonator delete.

my question is.. to those of you that have installed one, do you like it? regret it? too loud? i have one sitting here, but Im not sure if i want to install it or not, because its hard to go back to the resonator once you chop it off. Im just afraid its going to be too loud since it seems like the dark horse mufflers are different than the GTs.

Wow! That is not how I understood go BIG!
I'm in the process of figuring out when I want to purchase the Borla X-Pipe Switchfire, resonator DELETE.
If I wanted a quiet car, I would have kept my Honda Fit.
To each their own, not judging, just MHO.

I went with a Steeda H Pipe + my Dark Horse Handling Pack mufflers (active exhaust). Plenty loud at cold start!!!! And it sounds great under throttle.
Good to hear. I mean there is always quiet mode if needed. The dark horse just seems so much louder already than my S550 GT active exhaust did stock - so i didnt want it to be insanely loud all the time.

I tried looking at a few videos online, but apart from the steeda one, there really arent many that have dark horses - since im fairly certain we have different mufflers than the S650 GT.

I have the Steeda Hybrid X/H pipe on my DH. There are a lot of times I don't think it's nearly loud enough

Went with the roush H pipe and I turn more heads now. I like the sound also. I had a 14 GT and agree with what you said. Cold start in the morning is nice. I have the race exhaust saved as my favorite button to open it once out of the neighborhood.

I put the Steeda H-pipe on my 19 Bullitt and then transferred it to my 2025 GT. Just save your resonator and it can be put back on if needed. My 2019 Bullitt had better sound than the 2025. Not excessively loud. You have options if you have active exhaust.

Love it. If I had no active exhaust, I would regret it since cold start is too loud even in quiet mode.

I must be missing something or maybe my Mustang is. From the factory my 2026 GT premium convertible with AVE is so loud on track setting (where I keep it) that it is probably illegal. I mean it is sooooo loud it spooks other drivers if I punch it - at any speed. It has the unmistakable deep Mustang note. Why would I want to mess with that and end-up with the raspy/whiney sounds I usually hear from the various "deletes". It has a deep rumble at idle and LOUD deep blast if I punch it. I wouldn't want it any louder. The boss says she can hear me coming a block away - my friends say the same.

I run the Corsa resonated double H. 3'. Nice deep tone, no drone, and not obnoxiously loud. Perfect balance with the active exhaust and headers.

@Ninjak ..... I love Corsa. I have installed their through hull switchable exhaust (like Mustang's factory AVE) on too many high performance boats to mention. Their products are among the elite in any category they enter. I switched from Roush clear top air boxes on mt 2024 GT to Corsa's on my 2026 GT - but - personal opinion - I don't like the sound of their crossover better than the factory set-up from Ford when under "spirited" acceleration. At idle I don't hear much difference, on the highway I do hear a drone, at certain speeds, and under heavier "spirited" acceleration I like the Ford AVE better. Just a personal opinion. Attached picture of the Corsa clear air box tops I purchased for my new 2026 GT premium convertible with AFE filters. LOVE Corsa, just not the delete H.

Coming from two decades of Subaru's and at least 10 different exhausts, I'm happy with the stock active exhaust on the Dark Horse.

I don't need it to be deeper or louder. H-Pipes are inexpensive, but it's just not something I see myself needing. I like to be able to have conversations in the car and not have to scream at my passenger. The exhaust in the Dark Horse sounds wonderful. I do start the car in quiet but run in sport about 90% of the time. Great sound. Plenty loud but I can still talk to my wife.

I'm in a Mustang club and a lot of the guys have H-pipes on their cars. They sound good but doesn't do anything for me. I'm also not a fan of slip fit anything but we get them on Mustangs whether we like it or not. The last thing I need to do is cut off my resonators so I can fit a straight pipe in there.

To each his own. If you want the deeper sound and the extra noise by all means go for it. The higher pitched raspiness of the stock resonators are fine for me.

No doubt these things are so subjective. I’m the guy who tends to always drive an American 8 cyc muscle car. Had them all - dodge, ford, Chevy and many iterations of all of them.
FIRST thing I do is mod the exhaust but I’m one of those guys who really loves it when it’s semi quiet inside and “gates of hell outside”.
I have the mbrp active system which basically removes the resonator for an X and practically deletes the mufflers.
It’s loud but I love it.
I always wished I had the opportunity to hear it with an H vs the X just because everything says the H is deeper.

I however don’t have the head to go to the exhaust shop and have them cut off the x to throw in an H to see if I hear a difference. As far as slip ons- I always have things spot welded. But yes if you’re afraid of “loud” it’s likely going to be louder for sure.

I know it’s off topic but I just can’t seem to get those damn corsa box covers out of my mind. I like the tubes they make too but I fear they would work “worse” than stock (I’ve seen this with air intake systems before).
I feel like I am going to cave and buy those filters and covers. Yes I know they’re for looks. But I love the look!!
