Yall care about gas prices? If I need gas, I get gas. Would've gone EV if I cared about prices these days, but I dont!
Also, if you have a pony, you should measure smiles per gallon, not miles per gallon.
Exactly my thought and how long to gas up to how long to power up. Makes a big difference

$2.50-2.60 per litre for 98 octane in Western Australia (not as steep as NZ),
price went up by 50 cents per litre within 48 hours of the first bombs being delivered with the same pre bomb fuel in the fuel stations underground tanks. Then we were asked not to panic buy. Then the Government stated that they would increase fines to companies for fuel gouging. Now things have gone quiet because they have run out of jokes.
To stop gas stations from gouging you have to report it. I had a gas station by me that would raise the prices on Thursday and drop it on Tuesday. He got in trouble and didn't do it for a while. He did it again and people reported him again and he had his pumps locked. That lasted 4 days and he finally got the point. But he lost a business because he was in the middle of town and the main road. People drove further for gas instead of giving him the business.

I've got my favorite 76 station I go to. The one near my house it $6.35 for super, but I go special to the other 76 that has super for $5.83.

That's a yuge difference.

Yes, I live in CA.

EV are great till you have to charge up especially if you are on a trip. If you don't own a house or live in a development where you can plug in. Then you have to go to a charging station and I have seen some nightmares.
In the US maybe but in the UK charging is not a problem.

How long does it take to charge up??
Not long - no desire to turn this into an EV thread but for most people in the UK now EV works just as well as ICE.

Most fast charge EV stations are around 20 minutes for a 20% to 80% top up (which is what happens most of the time)

However by far the biggest stimulus has been the price of fuel - why pay the oil companies when you don't need to.

You drive EV's in a different way, you don't go from full to empty and you nearly always start with a full charge from home - just a different way of doing things
In other words you pay the electric man for your time instead of the gas man.
