I have 13500 left after my sun shade purchase. Might just go in and grab some oil filters. How do they pull up your points at the dealer? I haven't been back in since i bought the car.

I got 31,000 points for my car purchase in March.

Not sure what I'm going to spend it on yet. I guess a few hats or t-shirts. I do my own maintenance and purchase most of my parts, including motorcraft oil from RockAuto. I have all of the accessories for my car I need.

Cost of an oil change in the Bay Area, 10 qts full synthetic is about $180. In this market, Ford dealers actually sell parts above Ford's MSRP, it's standard practice. If you want to pay MSRP you have to order it on the Ford website and pick it up at the dealer. Even with shipping Rockauto's prices are well below MSRP. I buy in bulk. While I appreciate the gesture, Ford points offer little value to me.

I'm not complaining about the prices. That's what it costs to live here. I'm blessed to still be able to crawl under my car at my age. 😂 Even though I can easily afford it. For me it's just the principle.

This is what happens when you have a warranty repair, buy a set of tires (sometimes they give out like 28K points for tires) and buy a car. and this is what I have left after getting the white shift knob for my GTPP, and a cargo net for my Bronco.

Just checked and I received 47K points for a blown rear end on my Edge Sport back in 2023. I still have no idea what to get with it.

I would never put $5 Walmart oil in my car. Quality synthetic runs $12-$13 a quart. The dealer isnt upcharging you. Its pretty normal for a 10 quart oil change to run $120+.
"Walmart" oil (Supertech) is only $3.59/qt for full synthetic.

You wouldn't buy any of these oils that are all less than $30 for a 5 quart jug, and better than Motocraft?

So I went for my first oil change yesterday, and I had 3406 points from the purchase of said car. Thinking the points would cover the oil change, I only got $17.03 off my bill. Does this sound correct, or am I delusional?
Get the Ford Visa. I get a ton of points using that card. Gas, groceries, and dinner/beers all receive 5x points

I was referring Supertech (as I thought thats what he was referring too in his post as well). Ive used Mobil 1 and Pennzoil for years. They just aren't priced the same in my neck of the woods. Of course, I also avoid going walmart like the plague lol.

I use pennzoil platinum advanced in the new Lexus and Motorcraft full syn in the mustang.

I used pennzoil dino oil in my Forester XT & Legacy GT. The STI got full synthetic for the 10 yrs i owned it. Both pennzoil and valvoline are good oils. I used castrol on some of my older cars and whatever brand name was cheapest in my VW phase (12 yrs). I never jumped on the mobile 1 bandwagon. Some people swear by it though.

I decided to do Motorcraft in the Mustang to ensure extended warranty coverage. Was it absolutely necessary probably not. I buy in bulk. There are 100 reasons why to buy OEM, and 200 reasons why not to. Frequency is probably more important than brand.

Ive always been a Mobil 1 guy. I use it in my classic as its full synthetic and comes with the right amount of ZDDP already added for flat tappet cams.

Unfortunately, hardly any lube places in my area carry Mobil 1 anymore. So ask for Pennzoil Platinum in my newer cars. If I use the dealer I get Motorcraft full synthetic.

How many cars did you have to buy for that amount of points?
This is one of the reasons I went with the Ford Performance Supercharger. Got the Ford Visa, put it on there, paid it off - now all the Ford Performance Work I did at the Ford Dealer I got 16x Points for. So...

40K Points for the car - $18K for Supercharger Installed, Ford Performance AOS Installed at same time, Ford Performance 3" Active Exhaust with Dark Horse Valance Kit, and Second Oil Change - nets me roughly 325K points. Pays for good portion of tires at least idk?
