As a many time previous Mustang owner.....yep Mustangs for the most part definitely depreciate......
The price seems about right - 64K MSRP ...Im sure you can get a pretty good discount from MSRP ....so say a new one is about 60K ....so a used one with 3K miles for 53K feels about right.....
In another 2 years- will be in the 30s probably.....
Unfortunately high MSRP Mustang GTs seem to depreciate pretty quickly.......

With that low mileage for a car that's 1 year old, I wonder if you are super rich and have ten other cars or you actually don't need a car and you wasted money.

Depreciating assets are poor investments. All cars (almost) depreciate. That's what we signed up on.

I checked my Focus RS's sale value at both Carvana and KBB (via their dealer buy offers) "before" trading it in on my GT. Does that suggest anything to you?
If fairness to both of them; we can't expect a "retail" sale offer, and I didn't; "but"....................I got $2,500 more for trade than either of them offered.
A week or so after I traded; I got a call from one of the KBB affiliated dealers; asking if I was still interested in selling my RS? So, I explained the $2.5 K diff between my trade and their offer. The lady sounded surprised and said their offer was just a "national average" of RS sale value.
My response? "Maybe you should buy a smarter computer" She laughed over that. Thanked her for the follow up call and that was that.
Leaving me wondering if everything on their end was computerized? What ever it is; I guess it must be working or they wouldn't still be doing it.

You can get 10k off sticker on a new GT- at least in my area. So that has a big impact on used car values. If Ford takes all the incentives off when the 26's come out that will help but dealers seem desperate to get rid of the 25's right now.
