From what I understand it is a cross plane crank. Flat plane reserved for Predator and Voodoo.

No, it's crossplane. There are debates on if we'll ever see a new flat plane crank in a mustang again. A reliable flat plane crank 5.4 making over 600 NA horsepower would be awesome for the next gt350, but it's a long shot.

I think they are waiting to see how reliabe chevys is. If theirs has some similar issues, I bet Ford engineers will let the italians keep that technology

Yeah, I LOVE my GT350 but it does not follow sound engineering principles and requires a lot of dampening to keep the vibrations under control. In most scenarios short of intense/extended racing the 350 will hold up well.
The oil consumption and parts issues have pretty much been solved with the Gen2 motor, but your still dealing with a larger displacement engine and engineering acrobatics to make that 5.2 liter fit under the hood. It's a thing of beauty but not really duplicatable en mass...

Iā€™d be surprised with this dual intake setup if ford doesnā€™t come out with a next generation flat plane crank engine. It literally solves all there firing order issues

we shall see

I don't see a flat crank living in a street car with an engine larger than 4 liters.

Maybe he meant 5 liters lmfao šŸ¤£ because letā€™s cut the crap the Gt350s had alot of problems and the lt6 is having a lot of valve train noise, we shall see
Newer 5.2s are apparently rock solid. I believe it's the 2018 and beyond gt350s that fixed most of the issues.

They did other than the bad batch of valve springs for the 2020 MY

i still wouldnā€™t get one, Iā€™ve driven more than a few and hard. They all had really nvh issues at different rpmā€™s. Like man thatā€™s not good when theyā€™re not consistent between these cars

and one blew up at 8k miles
